Avatar Uncut Reaction!

What's up, homies! Thanks for joining us for our reaction to James Cameron's Avatar in 3D. If you've got a 3D copy of this movie, we encourage you to load that bad boy and watch along with us. If you don't have the 3D version, you won't have to worry. You can still follow along as we talk about the story, characters, and impact of the film.

The 3D version is the theatrical cut, also available on Disney Plus.

So glad I decided to use a re-watch of Avatar as an excuse to bump up my membership. It was fun getting your perspectives on the BTS aspects, as well as your general enthusiasm for the movie.

I better see some deep, dark, rich nipples in Avatar 2 😂…per Hectors request of course

They’re not going to make it to the next Toyota-thon.

I remember watching this in the theaters and it was the first time where I felt that 3D wasn't a gimmick and was a part of the story being told. I think one of the moments that stuck with me was a rather mundane scene, but it was when Stephen Lange was giving the introductory speech to the new people for Pandora. I felt like I was sitting there and there was a row of people directly in from of me, versus the actual stadium style seating in the theater. I did feel that the story is a Dances with Wolves and FernGully knock off, but James Cameron was able to supplement that story with some amazing visuals and heart from some of the actors, especially Zoe Saldaña. I still rate the movie a 7, but yeah the visuals are still rather stunning for a 2009 film... and I wish I had a 3D TV to watch it properly.

Watching this for the 3rd time with S22 ultra phone & ipad pro setup and pretend my glasses are 3D glasses, I did get to see the remastered 3D recently and its fuggin' amazing ya'll ngl. Like all other watchalongs and reactions, its always fun with you boys!😊 NOW When Way of Water premieres here next week, 100% watching it in 3D, wearing contact lenses on just for Avatar like I did back in 2009 for the first one. Best moment for this watchalong is when ya'll discovered (and mindblown) that Tsu'tey is played by Laz Alonso a.k.a. MM in The Boys! 😂 Marvins' rep just skyrocketed 500% lol

do any of the patreon members have a 3D TV at home? I'd venture a guess that's a no lol. was fun to rewatch this movie again though. can't wait for the next one.

Also, if you have not seen the SNL sketch with Ryan Gosling "Papyrus" .... you must watch it ASAP :D

As I rewatch this it is clear this movie is a phenomenal technical achievement but the extremely generic story keeps its from being a great film. The scenes that are pure Pandora with no humans look incredible but any scenes with humans are rough. The composite always looks strange. I wish this film had just been about Pandora and the Na'vi. Leave the tired white saviour storyline out of it. I understand the intention was to make it relatable but I feel that aspect of the film makes rewatches a drag. Edit: Ok, this finale battle everything looks on point. They were saving some of the budget for this

My first Avatar experience was back in 2009 in Munich in a big 3D cinema, great, exhilarating and also exhausting because I felt it very intense at the time. I still remember that the film was interrupted in the middle at that time, an intermission. I had found the story to be good but not overwhelming, but the characters just were. After that, I watched the film again and again on 3D Blu-ray, at intervals of a few years. When I saw Your Reaction and saw the film in 2D, I could still remember the 3D version well. Very strange, 3D in the head, so to speak. The film is still great today, a completely new and very believable world was created. Now if I don't get a new 3D TV soon with all the bells and whistles, I'm going to freak out. After all these years, I don't think Avatar has aged, not for me.
