396 - EXTRA!!

THE WORK. Like I already said in the public post, this week I spent a big chunk of my time working on Princess Quest Gold Edition, getting it ready for release on Steam. Although I’m keeping the game itself and the story intact (apart from the Hermione bit), it still eats up a lot of my time.
ON THE BRIGHT SIDE, at least I have some new drawings to show you. Here’s a detailed process of me creating a scene for Hermoany—only to later replace her with everyone’s favorite: Iris.
DON’T HAVE MUCH ELSE TO SAY, so I’ll just drop the rest of the pictures here without any additional commentary.

Thanks. The switch was for multiple reasons. Iris being a barmaid makes more sense and will help me avoid possible copyright bullshit. I appreciate your interest in Hermione though. I love using her in my work also :)

I know the whole WT situation left kind of a bad taste in your mouth (from what I remember) but have to say, always so good to see HP content .. esp from you! Edit: Just read your other post as to why. Logical. But .. on the negative side, a distinct lack of Hermione. 😝

These behind-the-scenes posts are almost like mini art lessons, and it’s always cool to see how much of your style comes through even before the colors hit. Makes me wonder how many other "ghosts" are hiding in your old sketchbooks, waiting to be revealed someday 👀. Like the different versions of Vivi’s mother in Queen Trainer, the beauty contest that never happened, or the princess-powered taxi service from the harem... All those little fragments of worlds-that-could-have-been are part of what makes following your work so fun.
