Just not worth rattling the hornets nest as it would probably kill your US accounts and impact your income, not to mention all the stress.

trollmahn

Copyright lawsuits last for 2 years minimum. You would have to pay 6 figures to defend Fair Use. If you win, you could go after legal fees, but that is only if the plaintiff is making an obvious frivolous lawsuit.

trollmahn

If you get sued in America for copyright, your content gets removed, then you have to hire an attorney to defend you. Considering the bad relationship with Russia & US currently, US lawyers may not be able to represent you due to sanctions.

trollmahn

You use the Disney designs. While you are using it as a part of Fair Use, that is only a defense AFTER you get sued.

trollmahn

Rapunzel & Tinkerbell characters are public domain, BUT the specific Disney designs are not.

trollmahn

I was expecting a challange after last times message.

Joseph

Thanks. If nothing else I appreciate you saying that^^

AKAMAN

Thanks :)

AKAMAN

^^

AKAMAN

A true hero, as per usual.

AKAMAN

Thanks Trevor. ^^

AKAMAN

You're probably right. Unfortunately.

AKAMAN

Yeah... All things considered at my not worth the hustle at the end.

AKAMAN

Yeah, I know the feeling.....

AKAMAN

Thank you kindly, DeadBro ^^

AKAMAN

To be honest the more I think about it the more I realize that I would much rather retain as much creative freedom as I can. Working with Steam would mean a lot of self-censoring....

AKAMAN

^_^

AKAMAN

I know. But I see games like this one on steam... https://store.steampowered.com/app/1973580/Once_a_Porn_a_Time/

AKAMAN

^_^

AKAMAN

You should totally put it on steam. I would buy it, absolutely.

Marshall Iblis

Yes, adults do not have much time for games) But still glad that you enjoy your time) Keep learning Japanese! Glad you found a useful site for this)

NakedAlice

I love meat recipes, they are so nutritious and most importantly delicious, definitely a boost of energy for the whole day!

Naked_SoNUshka

As for releasing SC34 Season 2 on Steam, I quite like the idea, yes, it seems like a lot of work, but nevertheless...

NakedSunFlower

The gif this week is from Umaru-Chan.

Joseph

Yes, I will give it more thought.

AKAMAN

^_^

AKAMAN

Glad the Japanese is coming along well, and the game sounds like it's rolling right along! Glad to hear it! I hope you're doing well!

Trevor Bond

I'd honestly say trying to put it on Steam is a big risk. If you openly monetize it, you run the very real risk of bringing down the Wrath of the House of Mouse upon your head. As others have said, incidentally making money off Patreon for "whatever you do" is very different from directly making money of something that uses the IP of company, especially one as rabid as the Big D.

Bunny Waffles

Always remember. You don't fuck with the House of Mouse. They have fleets of lawyers and don't take kindly to their IP being monetized if they aren't the ones doing it, especially if it is being done as smut.

Bunny Waffles

steam thing sounds like a nice revenue possibility but two things to worry about: 1) Literally EVERY developer I have know who released to steam found the process frustrating, communciations difficult, and it took far, far longer than they expected. (every. single. one. And that's from about a dozen.) 2) You are protected by a combination of parody rights and your home nations somewhat, ah, generous take on international copyright law. The IP copyright holders might feel different about porn-princess being sold on Steam than they do about her being given away in a free game made by a guy who coincidentally has a Patreon. Do some homework first and make sure this does not put you on someone's radar.

Dubsington

Hmm added that wanikani.com to my list of learning websites. The ones I intended to go improve myself with, but found life and work commitments suck all my time so it just remains a nice idea collection of bookmarks. Dreams

Deonast

Steam sounds good for the chance to earn some extra $$$$. Giving that language site a try also. Now back to the grind and remember to have fun.

DeadMan

Also (having just published a game on steam) steam does not like anything that involves schools or even college, so the whole Hogwarts section could be ... problematic. But you can always submit a build and see what feedback you get.

EventSpawn

Nice!Steam!Steam!Steam!

AB007BA

Steam would bring it too much attention and risks stirring the Mouse.

trollmahn

Even though Fair Use is a thing, it is only a defense after the work has been taken down.

trollmahn

Glad you are having a great time and thanks for sharing.

Ace

Go for steam. I'd still play original but would buy to do my part

GodHasAbandonedUs

Steam sounds AWESOME. I'll replay it for sure x)
