YESSS TIME FOR GUS TO SHINE! THE OWL HOUSE 2X18 (Labyrinth Runners) FULL UNCUT WATCH ALONG REACTION AND DISCUSSION

Only now got around to watching this... oof, I've got some catching up to do. I know the next episodes are out already so I won't be seeing your reaction to this but I want to share this fact nonetheless because how much I love it: If you take the first letter of every episode Hunter interacts with the main cast (Hunting Palismen, Eclipse Lake, Any Sport in a Storm, Labyrinth Runners), you get the word HEAL. A simple yet beautiful nod to what meeting them means to Hunter and how much they've helped him to begin to find himself and recover from his past traumas.

I always found Gus the most uninteresting character in the main cast, compared to Luz, Amity, Willow, Eda, King, and even Hunter. No Eda, Luz and King was the best possible decision. It comes with the benefit of giving more screen time to the rest of our main cast. Added with some much needed development for certain characters. Gus feels too easy to trick. If someone tells you to do all their homework, it’s probably a red flag that they don’t care about you at all. And Gus learned that lesson the hard way. There are still issues that Willow and Amity need to confront, with today’s problem being how Amity sees Willow as the little wallflower who couldn’t summon an abomination properly. She’s hardly able to spend time with Willow without Luz, barely getting a chance to see how capable Willow’s become. Willow’s frustration is more than valid. They’re both talented. Unlike Amity, Hunter is well aware of how Willow isn’t someone to be messed with. So he sniffed out that guard’s BS of her being scared in an instant. Willow standing up to Hunter is so sweet. It proves that even though things didn’t end well between them in “Any Sport in a Storm”, she knows that he’s someone worthy of trust.
