I love the fact that Amity is learning Spanish for Luz. I also love the fact that Amity doesn’t bring up the video to Luz until after the crisis is over. It shows that she understands priorities. And she never watched the video. Amity makes it clear she won’t pry but states that she can’t help if Luz won’t let her, but Luz hides how upsetting it was. On the one hand, I would have loved to see Luz tell Eda and King about the promise rather than having that conversation off-screen, but on the other hand, I am glad that Luz isn’t keeping this big promise from the people she loves. Some writers would milk that type of thing for unnecessary drama. Note how Willow doesn’t say “Me too” to Amity how they could do things like talk and braid hair again. She doesn’t really respond. She lets Amity continue the braiding. Willow doesn’t even look as happy as Amity does. She just looks down.

A subtle detail, but luz misremembers her promise to her mom. last episode it went like this: Camilla: "When you come home, promise you'll stay here? I didnt mean to push you away. I swear things will be different" Luz: "Mom its not you it never was!" But in this episode luz remembers it as this: C: "when you come home, promise me you'll stay with me and never go back to that place!" L: "mom its not you it never was!" and the rest is the same. but luz's response doesnt make sense with her recollection of what happened, saying "its not you" in response to "never go back" no longer connects. and the promise becomes even more strict than it actually was. luz remembers it as a request to never go to the isles again, but camilla didnt say anything about "never going back" the first time around. its interesting that we got that insight to how luz processed the situation a bit.. then luz's projection on Kikimora this episode...Wanting so desperately for kiki to visit her own mother AND keep her status in the coven; and relating that to herself having to choose between the isles and her mother...ouch..i hate to see luz frowning so much this episode. you can really see it wearing on her already... yes rune is kings
