He was assigned the android before his very first scouting mission, about four years ago. At the time, the 55.2 model Adams were the latest and the most innovative, sporting a series of embellishments including an auxiliary drone that could reach a height of 200 meters and assemble a comprehensive topographic map of its surrounding landscape in seconds.
Within two years, the 55.2 model became obsolete, however - and, considering the nature of his job, Killian was offered a free upgrade.
He refused.
He’d flown enough with Adam to become used to him. It was his Adam. Perhaps he was prone to senseless sentimentality, who knows? But two years flying solo missions with the same robot would make anyone get attached - at least that’s what Killian chose to believe at the time.
Recently I've been writing an RP with Jess (snippet of the RP above was written by this amazing human ♥), and oh dear lord I got so into it that you'll have bare with my robot and monster fuckery posts for some time. I'm not even sorry. This is just too much fun.
