Re: Long vs Short series. I think a lot of us have gotten a little jaded or burned by the Internet content machine, and don't have trust that something that goes on hiatus will ever come back. Which is a shame, because I really loved the sidequest off to play Wrath & Glory, and could love it without reservation because I knew Rotgrind was coming back. There's a world where you guys pump out 18 - 20 episode seasons of your core shows per year, with an off-season series of 6 - 8 epidoes playing something else, and where you're doing that with 3 or 4 different groups of players, meaning you're always playing/releasing *one* short-run series at any given time. But that's not this world.

An unasked for two cents from a relatively new DM/GM: What's really helped me dive in better and have a more positive experience with homebrew and even modules, is that when you are writing/prepping, leave the storytelling to the players. Write a world. Write something that they can tell their story in. I feel like it not only lessens the pressure on the GM, it can make the players feel like the world is alive, because when you write the world independent of the characters, things can happen in the background that feels natural or they can see that they are changing your world in a way that's meaningful to them. I use that mentality with modules to avoid burn out (looking at you, Strahd). It's a skeleton. You can make the flesh. Hopefully that makes sense.
