The March files are here, please welcome the Mining Site Alpha. For this month I designed a Drill Crawler and a Drilling Station. The Drill Crawler is a direct upgrade of the Heavy Crawler. I really like this style of designing vehicles, I make a base chassis then I add a lot of extra features. It's similar to how real world vehicles are made. The Crawler will be a resin project and it comes hollowed and pre-supported.
The Drilling Station is the first terrain design in a while and I really enjoyed it. I will start making more terrain in the coming months. It's an FDM project more or less. The drill is the same as on the Crawler so you will be able to use a resin drill as well, but I included FDM files for the drill too. I will test this kind of dual technology and will see its traction. This way I can release vehicles and terrain side by side.
I will keep to this mining and forging theme in the next couple of months so at the end we will be able to set up a whole gaming table from it. This was my starting idea but veered a little away from it. It's high time I started working again on a larger set of minis.

No worries—I excel at busting minis. If anyone needs something damaged they can send it through parcel post or drop it off at my house! I put the bash into kitbashing. /jk

2023-03-13 18:20:55 +0000 UTCThe platforms are the same height as the medium height platforms. The pipes are smaller but I will do a connector piece to accommodate my older pipe set.
