Textured like native grass, the fibers on top of a Dune Crawler's back are the only sign one is buried beneath the surface of the sand. Once triggered, prey has within a second to react before they're snatched up and dragged under.
Dune Cralwers rely on these hairs to sense prey, as their eyesight is weak and their sense of smell is nonexistant. The upper surface of their shell is covered in backward pointing scales, lending it a rough texture.
