Arrived in Mexico and my CrossFit journey begins

Good morning all,

After a successful trip to Phuket, we are now in Mexico. I didn't want to leave Phuket in the end. I felt like I belonged in Phuket and hadn't felt that way (sense of belonging) for a long time.

I was lucky enough to meet some incredible people and be able to train the majority of the day every day. Everything felt in alignment with my goals, and I felt at home.

Before Phuket, I had already booked Mexico, and it will be interesting to see how I feel there in comparison.

Ideally, I would like to have 2 or 3 bases. Places where I have community, support my training goals, are warm (at least when the UK is cold πŸ˜‚), and there are like-minded people.

All these attributes are critical to me and, most importantly, help me get into an optimal state of mind. This is where I find everything flows effortlessly from a place of bliss and ease.

And in this state, my true creativity can be expressed and reflected in my movement and art.

Today is very exciting as I start my journey as a Crossfit athlete/ IFBB pro-Hydrid. For the past month/6weeks, I have been doing Crossfit classes (but with little structure). So today, I start with a CrossFit coach (I will break down my sessions in more detail in upcoming posts)!! Initially, I was reluctant to pursue Crossfit as I wasn't sure it would fit in with my aesthetic/ bodybuilding goals. But we will be able to manage both, and the plan would eventually be compete in the Olympia in bodybuilding and Crossfit games (obviously a long way off Crossfit games at the moment!), but let's see what we can do in the next couple of years!!

My dream has always been to be a full-time athlete, and we are on the way to achieving this dream. My new training program looks incredible and requires a lot of hard work.

We will be training 3 sessions a day (most days) with the structure of gymnastics and a fitness Metcon (am session). A strength session mid-day/Olympic lifting/ compound lifts and my bodybuilding and handstand session in the afternoon/ eve. I am going to document everything. Honestly can not wait for this journey.

Luckily Crossfit competition season is usually at the beginning of the year, and bodybuilding comps start a little later in the year. Prep for both competitions will be different, and I expect them to be very tough. But nothing excites me more than training goals and challenges!

Bring on the next eight weeks in Mexico, a bliss state, beautiful pure artist expression, and a lot of training!

I hope you have a great start to the week, and I am incredibly grateful to have you all on this very exciting journey with me ❀️❀️

Well it can be quite cold (0-14c) in the winter and rainy and then in the summer might get up to 25-30c if lucky πŸ˜‚ often rains too....

When you say "when the UK is cold" you mean it gets warm sometimes??! That concept is a bit hard for me to comprehend. πŸ€”πŸ˜
