Happy Sunday, all!
A very successful first week back in Phuket; the beginning of the week was tough with training and getting back into everything (especially given how achy I was after classes!), but we pushed through and managed multiple sessions every day.
Today is the first day the achiness has started to subside (so hopefully, next week, we will be able to push the limits with everything. Many of the classes I have attended have been endurance-based, and I am already feeling physically fitter (which was one of my aims).
The food has been excellent, and next week I will be more on it with macros and starting a mini-cut (this week was all about finding my feet again).
I have loved having a beautiful rooftop and doing a sunrise yoga stretch! And very much look forward to continuing this throughout my time here.
It's been nice to get back to doing dedicated contortion sessions (with the temperature, flexibility is so much more enjoyable/ easy to do). Over the next month, I will focus more on contortion training and developing some handstand/ planch moves I last focused on a while ago.
Everything has been epic, and I am grateful to be able to train in the warmth and sun surrounded by like-minded people.
The only thing I might have to cut back on is Crossfit. As much as I love doing it, I get slightly bulkier in areas like arms and core, which I do not want and is not congruent with my IFBB pro (main training goals). So I will stick to drills classes/ endurance based, higher reps and lighter weights + my bodybuilding training, and handstands and contortion.
Today is a rest day (I have just done a steady-state incline walk on the treadmill). Still, I need to let my body recover from the week's intensity, ready for a crazy and heavy training week starting tomorrow (I feel physically exhausted, so Sunday recovery is very much needed).
