Happy Monday, everyone,
It's taken longer than usual to acclimatize to Bali life. I have felt exhausted (a combination of jet lag and the time of the month). I was pretty much wiped out the first couple of days, and I am starting to feel a bit brighter and ready to get into everything. I like where I am staying; the location is very close to the beach, has good cafes, and is not too far from the gym. The room I am staying in a good (if not a little bit small!) but the rooftop of the accommodation is fantastic and makes up for it. This week I will undoubtedly be doing some yoga on there.
There are 2-3 routines I would like to work on over the next couple of weeks (obviously, I will film and share them with you all). One of my aims over the next couple of weeks is to become less distracted, especially with social media ( mainly Instagram) and instead regain a presence in all that I do. This is very hard to do in a world with so many distractions and constant stimulation. But I am currently reading an excellent book called 'Stolen focus,' which is very interesting and relevant. For me it’s not necessarily about completely cutting everything out. Still, more a case of having intention behind everything that I am doing, and instead of consuming information that isn't helping me toward my purpose, focusing on creating and mastering my craft.
A lot of focus is a case of retraining myself to avoid getting distracted. It even comes down to when I am training, train without my phone; usually, if I train, I listen to music (but when I do that, I have to use my phone and can quickly go down the scrolling rabbit hole).
The book 'stolen focus’ talks about getting into this deep state of flow (this is how I feel when doing my handstand/ movement practice). However, with the increase in social media and overconsumption of information, I often need to be more focused. I will work on removing distractions in my life, and my creativity, flow, and presence will evolve.
Spending the morning reading, writing, and training (without social media, I feel more creative and like ideas are much more free-flowing.) Let's see how we get on in the next couple of weeks.
And let the creations commence ❤️
Have a lovely start to the week R xx
