Shetchbook 17 - Mara - Model Sheets

I just watched all of Blackstar (1981) the animated series from Filmation. This was the show they did just before He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. They share a lot in common, such as Linda Gary (Teela) doing the voice of Mara. I've always thought Mara was pretty hot with her lavender skin. I'll have to do a Mara comic soon as well. As you can tell by now, most of my favorite female characters come from that sweet spot in comics and TV shows from the late 70s to early 80s. Specifically, I would say 1977-1986. That would put me at 4-13 years old.

Yeah, I can relate. I was born in 1973, so up until 77, I only remember bits and pieces; however, they reran a lot of shows from the 60s and early 70s in the late 70s and early 80s, my sweet spot, but I thought they were new at the time, seeing the animation and art wasn't that far off. Late 80s and 90s animation seemed a little more cutting edge though. The early 90s was also the death of Saturday Morning cartoons, but the dailies lived on with Batman the animated, Spider Man and the X-Men, which is pretty much the end of the stuff I like. New Animation as in the last 20 years, is entertaining, but I like the simpler times and the simpler animation personally.

No wonder I didn't remember this, I was born in 1980, I was a baby, I had to look it up, the animation is very similar to He-Man and the MOTU!!!!
