That was a LOT of recommendations. THANK YOU for all the amazing options, detailed descriptions, and rationales for why certain shows in particular would be a good fit.
I deeply appreciate the conscientiousness that went into the comments and find it incredibly encouraging to know there are still so many great shows to watch.
Below I narrowed it down to 25 options. It was an informal poll so it's a highly imperfect list. However, voting usually comes down to a competition between 1 to 5 big players (though we'll see, maybe this will be the GATE part of this particular pollgate).
As always, I wish I could do them all and I appreciate your understanding in advance if the show did not make the final list (I'd personally prefer if poll options were unlimited).
Depending on the length of the show chosen, I might select the next 2 shows from this poll but we'll see.

It will happen at some point for sure. About the One Piece live-action, I'm curious to see how enduring the attention is for the show. Over the last few years I've gotten countless recommendations for shows, and I've noticed some continue way after broadcast, others seem to disappear completely once initial hype dies down. Of course, before I watch the shows I have no way of guessing which is which

There's just a lot of other great content out there as well - it's funny to me how completely anime tends to dominate if a channel leans in that direction at all. The great irony is that the first live-action show to win is DEFINITELY gonna be One Piece.

Hope you get around to doing Ass-class somewhat soon. Would love to finally hear the thoughts from someone with actual teaching experience about that series.

It is certianly a different sort of show from the rest and thinking about it, it very well may spark the most real world discussions. We'll see if it ever happens, but tbh he may not get to it before the demand starts to diminish with it becoming less and less recent. Still holding my breath for Made in Abyss though.

Not to mention the added dimension of being able to react to a series you're invested in along side your audience. I do see you point, but for shows of a certian callaber, I can't help but feel like a person would just be needlessly depriving themselves. In my mind, that's Made in Abyss. I too am also waiting for Alex to eventually watch Steins:Gate though.

2023-09-21 05:25:25 +0000 UTCI know a lot of people out here for Edgerunners, but damn have I been hoping you'd watch Made in Abyss since I found your channel on youtube. Made in Abyss, Violet Evergarden, and A Silent Voice above everything else. If Edgerunners does win, well it's still a good show and it's not too long. Personally I'd put Steins:Gate and Re:Zero, and probably Death Parade over it without too much thought. But then I'm not sure I was ever in the right headspace for Edgerunners. Had some good moments but it just never really hit me to the same degree. Made in Abyss also won Anime of the Year!

It feels like that can sometimes influence how people choose to vote / not vote (myself included). It's not a huge issue by any means, but I'd be curious to hear if anyone else feels the same way. Regardless, I'm seeing a lot of good choices in the poll, so maybe it doesn't matter this time. 😅

The important thing is: does he enjoy the show and does it have an audience? Beyond that, I don't see the harm in adding longer shows (so long as he's still reacting to other stuff).

It’s ok though there’s still plenty of good shows to watch and maybe eventual who knows when we’ll get a reaction :)

I think I’ve only ever encountered one reaction channel where it won a poll (and even then it was tied and they decided to do both options) The others I’ve seen decided it on their own, or just listened to us shilling the shit out of it 😄 there are some good choices here that are near the top but I can’t help but look at the ones with lower votes and be a lil bit sad. But hey it’s just how voting works. Maybe next time. Oh and also anyone reading this … if you haven’t already watch Run with the Wind! 23 episodes and it’s complete, you’re welcome.

Like i always suggest Ping Pong the animation as a reaction because it is both amazing but also only 12 episodes long and very quickly opens up a "slot" for another show. Dont get me wrong, i would be really interested in watching you react to one piece, but on the other side im pretty sure you could LITERALLY watch all the other shows on this list in the same it takes you to finish it.

2023-09-20 08:33:31 +0000 UTCThere is options to catch up quicker : there are lists of episodes to watch that removes the more "filler" episodes and there are also "fancuts" calles One Piece Kai that recut the episodes of each arc and remove all the unecessary moments of each episodes and combine them into movie size episodes (1 arc being 1-3 of those episodes)

Hence I'm voting for Fate/Zero (assuming that Unlimited Blade Works and Heaven's Feel will naturally follow) and Steins;Gate. Yes, Mushoku Tensei is interesting. Yes, Made in Abyss is really great. And Re:Zero is quite popular too. But it will be many years until any of those stories is done. Not only you run the risk of the show losing traction with the audience, but it also may get dropped/hiatus'ed or, even worse, future seasons being much worse due to budget or other reasons. Are you Ok with having [Ongoing] status on your series, and then having to drop future projects because the new season of x came out 2 years after you finished the previous one?
