The subtitles definitely had personality. I thought it was kinda interesting when Oikawa said that Daichi looked like he'd "aged," haha. 'kanroku tsuita' is sort of like saying "you have much more presence now."

IMO crunchyroll subs are better especially because they keep the honorifics (-san, -kun) which make character interactions feel much more personal. And they translate volleyball terms accurately.
