Idk if it’s true but I also heard rock lock locked aizawa’s eyes open to help keep him from blinking

As someone whose two favourite characters dynamics of the story (since basically the beginning) are Deku & Bakugou and Deku & Shigaraki this entire sequence of events is all I can ask for. Horikoshi is bringing out almost every story thread together with this arc and it feels so earned and seamless. Honestly reading these manga chapters week to week with everyone was such a wonderful fandom experience. I’m so glad the anime is doing a fantastic job with the adaptation so anime onlys are having a very similar experience. Also the callback to USJ (season 1) when Shigaraki calls Aizawa “cool” … *chefs kiss* Yes. You are correct Shigaraki. Aizawa is without question the coolest.

Remember back in Season 1 when Shigaraki tells Eraser that he's not the final boss but that the Nomu was? Now Shigaraki is still up against Eraser but he is now the most advanced Nomu and the biggest threat. It's also great to see lesser heroes like Manual playing really important roles. Back in Season 2, he was just used by Iida as a stepping stone for his revenge. Now he's essential in making sure that Shigaraki's quirks are being held back. I love this arc for how it ties so many of these different past elements and characters together!

At 1:37, there's someone in the group shot spinning somebody in a circle, and that's now the only thing I can see... Also wondering if that's a quirk, or just a personal preferred fighting style...

kingafreund

So…. superhuman All Might strength, an OP decay quirk, the stockpile of quirks AFO gathered, the ability to steal quirks, and hyper regeneration? If Aizawa wasn’t there, everyone would have been thoroughly spanked.

“Who knows when it’ll be any hero’s last episode?” “Even in this conflict, at this stage, you still have energy for puns,” “They have like a weird Voldemort/Harry Potter connection,” “My God, this guy’s Superman,” “I think class is canceled, just saying,” “We need to learn, like, ‘float’ like ASAP, like yesterday,” “But also he [bakugo] loves Deku. He loooooves him. Loves him,” “Bakugo sounding like a real Midoriya fan right now,” “Protect Aizawa. We must protect Aizawa. He is everything,” “For me, the painful realization that there will probably be no school music festivals for a while evokes a pretty strong sense of dread,”

Geneva The Weeba

Yeah, I can’t really think of a show with better villains besides Hunter x Hunter and maybe One Piece.

It's such a great shot. "what the hell is One for All? Deku: oh sh ..

Yup one thing I really appreciate about Endeavor is how far down he started. The guy was so hateable

Alex G

What's underrated about Endeavor is that, even when he was trying to make #1, he knew how to work well with others. It's why his agency is so huge. He works with the best people who are extremely synergistic, so a person like Kido, whose quirk seems "mildly useful" alone, is extremely powerful in a team setting. Also I imagine Kido is the perfect person to have on hand when there's a missile or an asteroid heading somewhere it shouldn't lol

Muchymozzarella

"But also he loves Deku" correct!

Muchymozzarella

I'm glad but not surprised to see you finding Shigaraki cool given your opinion of Aizawa, but I agree - Shigaraki is one of my all-time favorite characters let alone villains because of his complex but believable experience. It's very easy to see how unfairly the world has treated him. His Quirk and upbringing make me think of Deku's opening statement of the show about how all people aren't created equally. It's very easy to see how someone in his position would want to destroy the system that rejected him entirely. His ideology is built on the very real truth that society decides who will be both heroes & villains.

endeavor honestly been one of my fav characters since the tourny arc in season two, the vindication for that has been amazing for me

Jasmine Tea Enjoyer

they going off with the animation every episode, shigaraki's powers are insane. so nervous but so excited for what the climax of this arc is gonna look like.

Jasmine Tea Enjoyer

Deku's "oh shit" face is great. You just see that and know it's a terrible time to be the protagonist lol

Kayla

I honestly love how much Endeavor has come into prominence in the cast. He went from being portrayed as being the worst to developing into a character I actually feel some relief when he’s around to help.

2 uploads in one day; we have been blessed

I knew you’d love the Aizawa moment but towards the end

Kollie123

What a lot of anime-only viewers don’t know (because the anime didn’t show it very well but it was clearer in the manga) is that Aizawa’s leg is actually broken from the nomu that pulled his leg (the one Crust saved him from RIP) so that’s the reason why we see Rock Lock helping Aizawa walk when they first appear in the battlefield, and that’s why Gran Torino said that he’ll help Aizawa move.

Jabez Katsak

I was wondering. That's a great throwback

The title ''Encounter Part 2'' is a reference to where Shigaraki and Deku last met, in the mall and Shigaraki found his goal, which was titled ''Encounter''

So begins the scariest game of tag ever.
