“Redeem yourself for your terrible introduction,” “They now have the power of brotherhood on their side,” “My respect for her has gone up about 8,000 points,” “This is proof that nature’s terrible. It must be destroyed,” “I love shows where there’s a secondary character gunning for the protagonist slot,” “The things you can do really well, even if they’re at a small local scale, are just as big as some of the grandest things that people aspire to,” “The more I watch Todo, the more I love him,” “There’s a freedom and a power to his character that I’m really growing to love,” (We all appreciate the Todo love) “Pandash. Trademark,” “I’m becoming a little bit weird in my old age in the sense that I’m starting to believe in magic,” (Also Goodwin: *is only thirty-four*) “One of our biggest blind spots is the idea that we can predict,” “As a spectator, your conception of what’s possible and impossible is wrong,” “They (words and thoughts) dispense with all these lies masquerading as truth about what’s possible,” “If I had a dollar for everytime someone said ‘he’s fast’ in anime. If I had a dollar for everytime someone judged a fighting technique *while* fighting in anime,” “He’s just right down to the basics. Women. Eating. Fighting. Speaking of connected to nature,” “And beach flashback?” “Yeah, he just turned this into a reverse sit-up exercise and a chance to show off his abs,” “I hope Gojo turns *him* into a coat rack,”

Fun fact, the author actually dislikes Gojo because he is so hard to work around. He also says he doesn’t like his personality which is a hilarious because an assistant said in an interview that Akutami is the most like Gojo.

This and the movie are some of my favorite parts of JJK purely bc of how they show off Inumaki (the movie is a prequel, which is basic knowledge, so it's not a spoiler that there's more Inumaki in it than the 1st season). Inumaki is one of my favorite characters, both because he's cute and his power is fucking awesome. Actually Inumaki is my #1 favorite character, with Megumi coming in at a VERY close second (Yuuta is 3rd, but we haven't even met him yet).

Shit I forgot about that. He won't be able to watch the movie for mad long. He still hasn't even watched the 3rd MHA movie... :(

The Todo x Yuji teamup fight sakuga scene when the music starts going this episode won "Action Scene of the Year" at the 2022 Crunchyroll Anime awards. It beat fight scenes from AoT, Boruto, and Vivy. Deserved win for sure.

Ah thanks for helping me make that connection!

This sounds familiar... I feel like his name might have come up in Midnight Gospel discussions. Either way that sounds really cool. I think the word "magic" is used for things we think aren't real or can't do, but to me it's a matter of fact that there are so many things in life that are magical, in the sense that we are capable of great or profound things that once seemed impossible and maybe still seem miraculous. It's just that we get used to them being a reality, and so they fall out of the category of "magic." Yet with perspective, these things are pretty amazing and can carry the same purpose and wonder in real life that any magic in media would.

I don't know if you noticed, but Megumi is storing the cursed weapons in his shadows. So he's basically travelling with it everywhere he goes. I think it's in episode 6, but there's a scene there where Megumi discovers it. Also Inumaki getting to his limit so fast shows you how strong Hanami is and using cursed energy on a strong curse takes a toll on him much faster. And it's also difficult to control them with his speech as we see he was only able to do that for like 5 seconds at a time.

Have you ever listened to/read about Alan Moore's views on magic? I think you might find them interesting based on your discussion on magic during the video. Moore essentially considers magic to be the act of shaping consciousness via the use and manipulation of symbols/words/etc. His works, to him, are magic. They put out his ideas and perspective in the world and have the potential to change the views and conciousness of others. I always found it interesting, if just a flowery way to describe the act of creating meaningful art.

JJK almost over already, shame the movie takes forever to get digital releases
