I visited Hawaii (big island) with some friends and we had heard about a really nice swimming area with a waterfall. But asking around, we got a lot of different answers about where it was, and in hindsight we're pretty sure the locals were deliberately trying to mislead us. We ended up finding it, and it was better than we imagined. We made our way to the waterfall and there was a little cove you could sit in underneath it. Eventually we ended up just sitting directly under the water. There was no particular reason, it just seemed like the thing to do. I can't explain why exactly but it was an amazing experience :) This was back when I was trying to make travel videos, so I actually have unedited footage of the whole experience that Ive never even taken a look at lol

2022-06-25 04:59:15 +0000 UTCAt 10:00, Goodwin just sort of moved on without any explanation or exposition from this really cool story. Why were you sitting under a waterfall in Hawaii for an hour?! What were you training for? Did it work? We were just completely left hanging. Lots of interesting references this episode, from the idea that truly elegant tea drinkers will only let their tea leaves steep for 2 minutes so they don't become bitter (hence the little timer), to the Rocky stair training montage, to the brief image of the machine that cracked the Enigma during WWII, to the more obvious but still funny DBZ and Hunter x Hunter references. Edit to just one language nerd comment since I'm not confident in the source for the other yet :) - I've wanted to say this for a few episodes now, haha, but the way Anya announces that she's back home is pretty funny. Normally, you'd say "tadaima" to tell your family you're back. Instead, Anya says "Anya kikan" (帰還), which is the word in espionage or military stories for when people successfully return home from battle or from enemy territory after a successful mission.
