“I know that guy’s a closet badass. He’s not fooling anyone,” “All flash, no substance,” “You’re as foolish as you look,” “And. Cue. Intro,” “An empowering message. I guess we all can’t be My Hero Academia,” “There’s sort of a belief as kids that if you just sort of follow the rules and believe hard enough in the system, that you’ll get what you want,” “No one is coming to help you. It’s sort of on you in a very big way and always will be, no matter what. No matter how much help you get. Even if people *do* show up to help you, there’s a certain fundamental kind of help that only you can give yourself,” “He compliments you as he condescends you and defeats you,” “Again with the arrogance. The incorrect arrogance,” *waves along with Gojo* “Is this some kind of hypnotism?” “He somehow managed to turn this attack into a romantic date,” “Good old-fashioned punt kick. Into a lake,” “HE’S JESUS. Jesus confirmed,” (Tohru-Girl Jesus- vs. Gojo. Who will win?) “Gonna let my little homeboi finish you off,” “Is this not luring us into some kind of safety? Gojo is being set up here so well as the older brother you can count on/so then what happens when he gets taken out? That’s just pure chaos and darkness. As terrible as that would be, that would be very exciting narratively. And so I sort of feel like there’s a good chance that he is incapacitated at some point,” (I spat out me tea) “He’s capable AND warm,” “No one cares about your stupid domain. No one wants to live in your world,” “And of course he’s got beautiful eyes. Why wouldn’t he? He’s gorgeous,” “Blown away by the stunning beauty of Gojo. A-and the Infinite. Which is more beautiful, I’m not sure,” (Does white hair fall under the Goodwin Blond Boy Simp List requirements?) “We all know he’s talented and gorgeous, you gotta develop your own thing, ‘cause he won’t always be around. I’m getting scared now. Now I have something to lose,” “I’m trying to think what the thematic connection is between his moveset and his general demeanor and outlook,” “Look at this closet badass, just fooling everyone with his nervousness,” “Enter *my* domain: it’s the beach episode,” “They’re gonna Juju Stroll all the way to Chan’s house,” “That episode gets a 0/10 for no Panda,”

Geneva The Weeba

Ikr, but at least he’ll get some respect eventually xD

To quote Eric from blindwave (somewhat, don’t remember the exact wording): oh, no wonder he covers his eyes. You get lost in them.

I really like Gojo and his power. Something that might help you wrap your head around his domain is the idea of adrenaline. People often claim that stressful situations last longer than they did because the adrenaline makes them experience everything slower. In the case of Gojo’s domain, it’s that on an exponentially larger scale. Imagine so much adrenaline coursing through you that every moment feels like an eternity. Because of how much information you’re getting, it’s impossible to reasonably process it all and therefore you can’t do anything. Something else to note, there’s a slight mistranslation error when it comes to dealing with domains. When Gojo says that you can block attacks with a Cursed Technique that’s incorrect. The sure hit of a domain ignores Cursed Techniques. You can only block attacks with pure Cursed Energy and/or by reinforcing yourself with Cursed Energy.

the jogo slander hurts me...hurts bad...

You may be aware, but his power is also based on Zeno's paradoxes of movement. Essentially where to get from one point to another point you must pass through the midpoint between them, and since there will always be another midpoint to pass through, theres infinite midpoints between any given points so you can never reach the destination. Hopefully he doesnt mention it in the video and make me look like a fool for typing it out here. EDIT: Lol of course he did

I've always been fascinated by the premise of Gojo's Domain ever since I first watched this episode. The idea that when given everything all at once, there is nothing you can physically or mentally do to overcome that challenge is something that is so fascinating on a thematic level.

I feel like this always gets a bit lost in the quickness of the line, but just to make sure: Jogo (volcano dude) is stronger than the CURRENT Sukuna inside of Yuji, aka I think 3? finger Sukuna. We know that the guy from the restaurant estimated Jogo at about 6 or 7 fingers (I'm bad at remembering numbers but you get the idea).

Travis

And this is how everyone became a Gojo simp

Kei

That decimal number paradox you mentioned is actually perfect for understanding Gojo’s Infinity ability lmao. Basically, Gojo’s ability brings that paradox into reality: There’s an infinite amount of space between Gojo and the target. All of Gojo’s abilities are about warping space, and we’ve actually seen him use these abilities quite a lot already. When he puts his hands together, he can warp himself around, like in this episode when he warped to bring Itadori to the battle and in episode 2 when he constantly warped to dodge Sukuna a bunch. He has techniques that manipulate the push/pull of stuff, with Red being a giant push as we saw in this episode. Also, last episode when he was teaching Itadori about cursed techniques vs pure cursed energy, we saw him manipulate the space around a soda can to twist it as an example of a technique. I really love that we got to see so much of Gojo’s talent on display before getting a full display and explanation this episode.

Pye

Also, the confidence with which you pronounce his name as “Goro” = hilarious tbh lmao

You understood Gojo's character so well, and I'm glad you remarked how kind he is. Because that's the core of his character, regardless of his big ego and slight detachment, he still is trying to the right thing for others.

Me watching Gojo take his blindfold off: https://tenor.com/view/squidward-oh-no-hes-hot-shaking-gif-16063591

I love the soundtrack for this show so damn much

Jake White

Honestly there are so many amazing characters in this show, I do not know who you are talking about, but man am I excited for some of these upcoming characters.

benj

We are getting closer and closer to seeing our next favorite character, y’all know who I’m talking.

Chris Sharpe

I'm glad to hear that! Thanks for saying so

Alex G

Those eyes... those gorgeous eyes! We definitely get to see a little bit more of what our blindfolded sensei has to bring to the table. Behind his goofy attitude, he's definitely got more to him.

Aura Y

I don't know how you do it, but you always say the things I need to hear, you talked about relationships during ATLA, back when i needed to hear those things and now you talk about the purpose in life. Since I'm currently struggling with the purpose in life and questioning the things i like and choose to (or not to) do, your words really made me feel much more.. relieved(?) I guess. Ty On another note, that quote "When granted everything you can't do anything" seemed also really interesting to me at first watch. It's so deep maybe because it also describes Gojo so much in the series. A thing would be that he, although is the strongest, he finds it so hard to form the new generation as he thinks is the best for humanity because using his powers ("everything") isn't the right way to do it

Cristi Sandor

His purpose in life was to make Gojo look good

Alex G

I feel bad for Jogo (volcano head guy), he’s legitimately one of the strongest characters in the series and his first fight is with Gojo, legit one of the worst impressions I’ve seen in anime lol

Jabez Katsak

This was the episode where I knew I was gonna love this series. Gojo is the GOAT. Things just get better and better from here all the way to the end of the season, this episode is a big turning point for me in the show.
