Thanks for sharing. For what it's worth, I have a strong feeling that a lot of people struggled more than they thought they would due to the changes brought about by the pandemic. I think one thing that's become clear to me is that one of the invisible hands guiding friendship is simple proximity. It seems simple but I think the effects shouldn't be understated. Thinking about one of my best friends / brother (who may read this at some point) our friendship was formed because we took the bus home together every day freshman year of high school. As close as we are and as compatible as we are as people, I don't think our friendship would have existed or at least to this level of depth without the routine of taking the bus home and talking about video games and then later going to each other's houses to play said video games. And we happened to live close together so even after we stopped taking the bus together, it was a simple matter of walking a few minutes to hang out, and that got the relationship to the point where it's just as strong despite us living in separate countries. But it all started with the effortless and routine nature of spending time together, like the student council. And thinking about my other brother, it was from us both hanging out at that friend's house and later living together that forged that bond as strong as it is. Living without friends for about a year and a half I'd say during the pandemic, it became clear to me that what I had thought was just a great thing that happened organically was actually something way more important to my well being that I had understood, and something that would have to be actively watered in order to beat the headwinds of circumstance.

small anecdote but i've got to say that sometimes i get a bit emotional watching this show. i've had a difficult time holding onto a social life since going to college post-pandemic. i've learned that i'm not great at maintaining friendships without the constant setting of school. so i get a bit nostalgic watching these beautiful, sweet scenes in this familiar environment. i was actually feeling a bit lonely and anxious as i was watching this video (stressful week), but halfway through i got a random text from a dear friend that i haven't seen or spoken to in three months saying that she misses me and that she wants to hang out. honestly got a little teary-eyed.
