It's one of those things I never really payed attention to until I realized just how much having a constant conduit for content consumption in my pocket had replaced it lol.

2022-05-12 04:13:10 +0000 UTCNot MoCap, there is no MoCap in anime thats only used in live action stuff. This is Rotoscoping but not in the way that the majority of people understand it. Rotoscoping tends to reference real life footage quite literally which can lead to rather robotic movement as it doesn't translate all to well into anime. Here's where the animators brilliance comes in. He found a middle way of combining the realistic movement from the real-life footage with the over the top expression on both the face and body of a bubbly character like Chika. In other words he added his own touch on the whole sequence. Its one of my favorite animated sequences of all time, it was done by a freelance animator who usually works with KyoAni, the goated anime studio itself, but this show is obviously A-1 and props to them for greenlighting this first season of Kaguya and giving them the creative freedom to make stuff like this.

2022-05-12 00:37:40 +0000 UTCI love how they do the one off endings, I forgot how fun and cute Chika's song and dance was Also walking to school is a pretty big thing in Japan since everything is close to either walk, bike, or ride the train. Similar to Korea, it's rare to own a car, no? I think it's considered boujee if you take your car to school, like when Akito first pulled up to the school. It's common in anime if a car pulls up to school, everyone's got to see who it is.
