Back in the spring I got the chance to work on some branding for a craft brewery in London. I won't get into the nitty gritty of it because of NDA and all the legal shit; but, one of the ideas they had was for a femme fatale type character in a backless red dress. We did a bunch of sketches for it and I even had a model lined up to shoot for reference (though I suspect she never intended to follow through. bitch) then at the eleventh hour they decided "the sketch is a bit too sexy; can we cover her up a bit, turn her head so we see her profile, narrow her hips and lose her bum"
ugh.
Obviously I did as asked, and we got to something we were all happy with. They ran the artwork, got the packaging made, even ran a campaign on a few London Taxis in the summer. It was really cool to see; not that I've had a taste of the beer yet as they've still not sent us the crate they promised us. Tossers.
Anyway, their loss is your gain! The last slide is the rejected sketch I did for the client, and everything after that has been done in the last couple of days between other jobs and losing the will to live with instagram. To quote one of my favourite youtubers: "Phun!"
I really like how these came out, the black sparkly dress especially. This is one of the rare times where I actually don't like the nude version; I much prefer the clothed ones.
