In Fruits Basket 3x4, I'm... Home, Haru finally steps up and does what someone should have done a long time ago by putting "Old Hag" in her place.

You kinda misinterpreted that last scene with Haru, Kureno and the curse. Haru was about to go back to Akito because of Akito's distress and the curse magnifying whatever feelings he had for her. Kureno anticipated this and walks out to block Haru's way back to Akito while encouraging him to go to Isuzu and to forget about Akito. Notice the sequence of events. Haru turns around, and then Kureno speaks, not the other way around. So if you wanted an example of how powerful a compulsion the curse is, this is a prime example. Haru is furious enough to almost physically hurt Akito, but the moment he hears her in emotional pain, his first instinct is to return to her side. It's very messed up.

Akito has something against Rin's hair so I think it's because it resembles Ren's hair.

This episode is so good!! Like haru would’ve crushed Akito if he wanted like that wall was destroyed! And the way the curse made haru come back and care for Akito once she called him but Kureno stopped him from being like him. Also Thoughtbubble once said how Akito resembles a small child throwing tantrums and repeating the same thing about being special, but what was interesting was that usually someone who has trauma can regress to the time they were traumatized and act that age which blew my mind!

What a packed episode holy shit... don't know where to begin. Finally getting caught up on these but damn... not much to say

Nick

its just a run on joke nickname like “Jean John” was in AOT lmao…don’t overthink it too much 😂

Ugh the tears I shed for this episode. And the way Kisa says Hiro's words back at him "it's OK, you can stop now". I'm such a cryer when it comes to things like this. Actually, as soon as tears show up, I'm done for. Youve heard about a sympathetic gag reflex? I have sympathetic tear ducts.

I have to say, Kureno acted like an idiot in this episode. Going on to Akito and saying "you can't do that" is hypocritical because he enabled her to do worse the past years. Sure, I'm glad he's in love and had a realization concerning his relationship with Akito. But you don't go to a child you raise a certain way and blame them fir what they become. Sure, Akito needs to change. But that's not the right course of action. Of couse Akito would feel betrayed. Because that's what it was. Akito learn that cruelty is the best way to keep everyone around. Why would she stop ? She's just like Tohru, who do everything to keep her loved ones around. And I have to give credit to the old maid. None of the zodiacs seem to give a shit about Kyo getting lock away for life. Because, you know, he's the cat. But another getting his place ? Unforgivable ! Given, it means Isuzu has the same value as the cat. And if one could be, sure, they're all monsters. But that talks plenty about how the zodiacs themselfs think about Kyo. And even if this was implanted in their mind, it's still wrong. The way i see it, no one is truly good or bad in Fruits Basket. They have desires that make them selfish, and traumas that could make them good people if they healed. Even Tohru and Akito, in different situations, wouldn't have been who they are now.

Also, its been going on for longer than expected so I didn't know whether to take you seriously, but Haru's full name is Hatsuharu not Haru Haru lol

Athena

You'll find out more later on, but yes, Akito's mindset was set up from the start. It's so terrible because there are different factors, but she is also the main source of the zodiac member's suffering.

Athena

I love the kids at the end just :0 0:

Geneva The Weeba

idk what to say about this episode cuz i wanna be vague about the vessel that contains father but i feel like if i spazz about it i'll spoil it so i'm just gonna.... HARU AND HIRO ARE PRECIOUS BABIES I LOVE THEM AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH

Brimmy

I mean teens have sex. that’s just a fact. Trying to pretend they don’t is just disingenuous. They didn’t make it gratuitous.

Mortis

Akito: Why does everyone betray me? Alex: Because u suck Me: because ur a fucking asshole hello????

Brimmy

This is a very serious and exciting episode but every time they show these like 15-year-olds in bed like a married couple I'm like "Cut it out!" lol

So something a lot of people don’t notice even though they flashback to it this episode is that ren destroyed rin’s life as a child on purpose. She knew her parents were faking being happy and talked to Rin about her parents putting the idea in her head by saying and asking over and over again how happy her parents were and if rin was happy to have such happy parents. That way rin would be primed to bring it up to them like she did and lead the the act breaking. Now obviously it probably would have broken anyway eventually without her but ren deliberately went out of her way to break it earlier and cause rins family to fall apart. And then she sends rin on this suicide mission she knew was very likely get her killed by akito by lying to her about a way to protect one of the only people Rin still has. Ren really is despicable.

Mortis

Yeah it's Tiger this year. I could be wrong but I think starts in early February this year, so not far off

Alex G

Haru and Rin are my favorite couple. Kinda wanted dark Haru to unleash on Akito but it's better this way. Isn't it Kisa's year now? Year of the tiger. Or does it not start until March?

Lysieblu

another similarity between Rin and Ren is the way they present their femininity. they're both very comfortable wearing revealing "sexy" clothes, and as we know Akito is VERY upset about Ren sleeping with Shigure. this leads Akito to thinking of Rin, who presents herself very similarly to Ren, as some sort of seductress, she didn't just have a relationship with Haru, she "seduced" Haru. it's so warped because as we see in flashbacks, it was Haru who initiated the relationship, initiated the sex, but Akito can't fathom Haru getting with someone like Rin unless Rin seduced him.

Francesca White

I am also envious lmao

Alex G

I'm surprised you didn't notice it, but Akito doesn't just hate Rin for being beautiful and feminine, though that's part of it, it's that Rin looks EXTREMELY like Ren, down to her flowing long hair that Akito has said she hates and that she's now cut.

Francesca White

Hiro really gets some great and much needed character development, it shows a lot in this episode. I just want to protect Kisa x Hiro from all this batshit craziness and let them enjoy childhood love. The studio does a great job at subtly making Hiro and Kisa look older now thats its Season 3.

benj

Haru was about to turn back to Akito, but Kureno stopped him and told him to go

Francesca White

I truly cannot get enough of Haru and Rin, they are my favorite couple in this show for so many reasons. They both literally defied God for their love only to be physically and mentally punished for it in severe fashion, they care so much for one another I’m honestly envious of it. Haru carrying her home in this episode is easily one of my favorite scenes in the entire series.

benj

Inject it into my VEINS
