2021-12-27 19:16:10 +0000 UTCI just want to say that this arc actually happens out of order in the anime, the next two arcs were switched (you’ll know the other arc when you see it) so this happens before it did in the manga. So the reason Shigaraki has white hair and is destroying a city, the truth of what happened at deika city, why jeanist is missing, in the manga this next arc was written assuming you know all of that but the anime changes nothing so without context it can be confusing, you’ll defo just be stuck guessing a lot of the time. Hopefully after you get answers you will be able to look back and go “ohhh so that actually meant that, or that foreshadowed that, or that was a misdirection for this”

This is such fun episode and I agree we should have gotten a whole episode of the students just celebrating. I'm really liking the growing friendship between Todoroki and Bakugou and it was also nice to see some mention of our man Best Jeanist.

2021-12-23 14:51:23 +0000 UTCRe-adjusting to a non-barracks lifestyle was one of the most surprisingly difficult things I ever experienced. I think it causes a lot of people a lot of problems because they're not expecting it to be such a shock. Not having the (gender nonspecific) boys there at breakfast was/is gutting. On a lighter note, I think this Endeavor intern team might be able to end crime permanently? Imagine stealing a purse when you know that the aggregate power of 5 suns is likely to descend upon you for doing so.

(it's also the episode where having read a few chapters (chapters 59-65) in the Vigilante manga could be very useful, and make the whole experience even better!

You know damn well if Vlad or Aizawa said anything that Midnight and Mt. Lady say to the class, everyone would find that awful. *To clarify I mean IRL. Most people find it funny watching them coo over teen boys. But the genders swapped would not be found funny at all.

I wished that from the bottom of my heart. The first time I watched this episode: There will be no next Christmas party because you'll all be dead lol I'm always glad when they give us fun, wholesome episodes, but this type of atmosphere and Deku's phrasing truly made me fear for the worst.

Also Deku with the rest of them being with the number 1 hero is awesome and It's so good. The top heros need to be with the best of the best if they're gonna get stronger so it makes sense.

2021-12-23 04:27:09 +0000 UTCI think it's super cute that Todoroki was such a loner at the beginning, but he's actually a soft boy who wants to spend time with his friends. On a sightly darker note, Midoriya is sort of a grounding force for him when it comes to his father, so he probably wants him around as some level of protection against the perceived threat of being "corrupted" to be like his father.

2021-12-23 03:47:32 +0000 UTCThat’s a bit negative, all of the people I know that are anime-only loved the second half of this season, and the arc swap didn’t seem like an issue at all. I think it’s mostly to do with incredibly high expectations from manga readers. Not to say the second half is perfect whatsoever, but it isn’t nearly as ‘bad’ as people make it out to be.

Also the idea that Iida just gave one of his own pairs of glasses as a gift is funny to me (remember he had a wall of glasses so he must have just grabbed one off his shelf)

2021-12-23 03:18:59 +0000 UTCThis is overall one of the funniest episodes in the entire show. Eri saying Trick or Treat, the principal sitting on Aizawa for warmth, Iida getting literal bars of gold as a present, Mineta just getting a picture of Aoyama. Whole episode is packed with laughs.
