2021-08-07 05:24:40 +0000 UTCI remember watching this the first time. First Best Jeanist is my favorite pro hero so that hurt. But Bakugo taking Kirishima's hand and that payoff to the close friendship the two built is one of my favorite scenes in the show.

2021-08-07 04:20:16 +0000 UTCAFO is on his last legs too, his body is ruined and the portfolio of stolen quirks he once had has been greatly diminished, this is a greatly nerfed version of what their fist fight was probably like. That last hit hurt and damaged his mask, but it wasn't enough to take him down.

2021-08-07 02:45:24 +0000 UTCI find it fascinating how much insight you have on Bakugou, I didn't really start to get him (or like him, for that matter) until the end of this season. On rewatch I did finally see the nuances and subtleties of his character, but props to you for seeing it from the start!

2021-08-07 02:43:24 +0000 UTCOne really interesting thing about the character development in this show is that you don't see the results as soon as it happens. It's very realistic in that way. The characters absorb information from all these different sources and process it slowly or incompletely at first, test out the results of that processing, correct, etc. Obviously you see it most with Deku, but also Bakugo, Todoroki, Ida, Uraraka....they may have experiences in one season that shape their actions two seasons later.

In all seriousness though, I love the saving Bakugou scene and how it brings light to the relationship he and Kirishima developed since school. There's so much complexity that goes into a society built on heros and villains so it's cool to see you analyze the show from this deeper aspect when the show doesn't expand on that blatantly until later. Great episode overall and I'm excited for next episode on Monday!

Both All For One and All Might are so much weaker due to near fatal injuries they gave eachother in their last fight, and they're still vastly stronger than anyone else. Makes you wonder what that first fight was like and how All Might ever managed to keep it a secret lmao

Even unknowingly or subtly, they've shown both the UA students growing as a hero, and Shigaraki and crew growing as villains. I think the hero-villain dynamic in MHA's society is super complex. I think it's right to say that there will be more grey area than true villainy or heroism, should be interesting to explore. Can't wait for the next episode!

2021-08-07 01:27:25 +0000 UTCAll for One and All Might both know the other is incredibly damaged. Which means neither are really at their full power. So that fight they had 5 years prior happened in a place that is probably not there anymore. If you can imagine both is these dudes at their full strength. It's as if the whole superhero story of the show happened years prior and we're just seeing the end of two massive titan's careers. Both Deku and Shigaraki are the new blood and they still have a long way to go. We're sort of in an intermediary time as far as the story goes. Also the last line of the episode was meant to raise an ear, we've heard that surname before. Oh also I love every reactor's journey with Best Jeanist: "HA! That dude has jean crotch face! ... Aw, shit JEANIST is the BEST! ...Wait... what happened to Jeanist? Stop the episode and answer my question, where is he and is he okay??"
