Armins speech will always give me goosebumps. The music is unbelievable

Nicolas Sabado

Thank you! I'm very happy to hear that

Alex G

I forgot about the shout out, nor did i know which vid it would be on. Had it on my 2nd monitor, heard my name and was like "wait whut" lmfao. Caught me by surprise, had to do a double take =P, Love your commentary man! Your insight and perspective is appreciated and enjoyed.

Alex Hecox

Thanks for the great breakdown! I will get my hands on these

Regarding the OVAs: the most relevant to watch are probably "Ilse's Notebook" (relevant info about previous Survey Corps expeditions to gain knowledge about the titans), the two No Regrets episodes (Levi's backstory), and the two "Wall Sina, Goodbye" (at this point in your viewing experience I can't tell you what it's about). In terms of when to watch them: Ilse's Notebook: Chronologically takes place after the 104th starts training but before the Trost arc begins. Most people watch it after season 1, but I might also recommend watching it in the midpoint of Season 1 (before the 57th Expedition arc begin). Story-wise, this is where the corresponding manga chapter was released — watching it at this point gives you a bit more insight into what the military knows about titans. No Regrets: Chronologically takes place before Season 1 starts. As far as I remember it won't spoil much no matter when you watch it, but it's best to watch after the end of Season 1, once you've been able to get to know Captain Levi and Commander Erwin. Wall Sina, Goodbye: Chronologically takes place sometime during Season 1. Don't watch it until after Season 2 because you need to know that [REDACTED] and [REDACTED]. The "Sudden Visitor" and "Distress" OVAs (chronologically between episodes 3 and 4) are a bit filler-y, but give a good amount of character development RE: the 104th division's training; the "Lost in the Cruel World" OVA (chronologically at the end of Season 3 part 1) is a dream sequence. You can pretty much watch those any time, noting when they occur within the actual story.

Armin’s speech always gives me chills 🙌🏼✨

Santos Luna Ramirez

You should be good to watch the first fmab ova, it explains more about the ishvalan war and mustangs backstory, I don’t remember the name thi

Anna Lena Ciplajevs

Dot Pixis would definitely be leading the charge of the bandwagon that is the simping for Resident Evil 8 character Lady Dimitrescu.

ComicalSkate

And that folks is how you spoil something by setting expectations. You aren't being cheeky commenting things like this.. You're just being unfair to everyone else.

Sorin

@jdthebud Since they have no reproductive organs, technically they have no gender, or rather sex. However they resemble human male bodies usually, at least in physique. I think that’s the quote from the 3rd or 4th episode

Nick

As far as the FMAB OVAs go I'm not sure. I know the movies are really good. Idk if I've seen the FMAB OVAs.

Itachi The Rouge

Yes there is a specific order to watch them. So after season 1 watch ILse's notebook: record of a fallen soldier. Then A Sudden Visitor: the Torturous curse of adolescence. After that Distress and then Levi's A choice with no regrets part 1 and 2. THEN continue on to season 2 of attack of titan main series. That's the chronological order! 👍 After season 2 is Wall Sina, Goodbye part 1 and 2. Then there's Lost in a Cruel World but I'm not sure if it's before or after season 3. There's also 4 movies but they aren't really needed to be watched.

Itachi The Rouge

I'm not sure they actually have genders. Do you remember, they talked a bit about it in that one lecture they had in training during Episode 3 or 4?

jdthebud

Why would you write this?

Brennan Regnier

That's true they do complement each other really well. I feel like the most dangerous combination is Eren+Mikasa lol We need a guy like Armin!

Alex G

This episode solidified Armin as one of my favorite characters in the series and also made me really like the Eren, Mikasa, and Armin (EMA) friendship/dynamic. I feel like they really balance eachother out. Ex. If EM were about to do something reckless Armin would be the logical one to hold them back. If EA needed support they could rely on Mikasa to be there. If MA were down in spirits Eren could motivate them. Etc

Shark-ira

That's interesting, I thought some of them were females just without the physical features. So doll face is male?

Alex G

Yeah I feel like I probably should watch the OVAs for both this and FMAB, just to get a complete picture :) Are the AOT OVAs all good to watch after season 1?

Alex G

CastSenpai

Aot today, and then tomorrow a new AOT episode comes out. Truly a blessed occurrence. This Armin scene was one of my favorites from season 1. Pixis noting how he wouldn't mind dieing to a female titan was funny. It's interesting we haven't seen any female titans though. You gotta wonder if the author did that because maybe censorship. I mean Titans don't have genitals but they have skin, so it'd be pretty hard to draw a female titan without showing stuff lol.

War2244

Birth of Levi: A choice with no regrets part 1 and 2. A sudden visitor: the torturous curse of adolescence. Distress. Lost girls parts 1,2 and 3. And Before the Fall. Edit: I missed one called Ilse’s notebook

Itachi The Rouge

Update: I agree with you, out of the 3, Armin is definitely the most normal. And probably the healthiest, especially if he can get past the self esteem barrier. I don’t really have anything of value today, but your commentary was great. I just finished season 3 and I’m starting season 4 tonight. I know it’s not great to overhype things, but I genuinely think people’s enthusiasm is deserved, especially at later seasons

Nick

Armins speech gives me chills every time. The voice actor did so good! But hey Alex I didn’t know if you were planning on watching the OVA episodes for AOT? But you totally should watch the OVAs after you finish season 1. They have a lot of great stuff like Levi’s back story and more. These are the OVA episodes:

Itachi The Rouge

It's nice to see, especially in contrast to earlier episodes. They start out in a bad place and it keeps getting worse (life is cruel and all about strength etc.) so it's great to see them start to climb out of it

Alex G

I love this episode for Armin time to shine. He really is a GOAT character for me

Dorney_Sunraint

You know a show has a deep focus on characters when an entire episode takes place during essentially one long conversation

Nick

I love the character development in the show, every character is extremely flawed in some way but they rise up to the occasion when the moment matters. Nobody feels unimportant and everyone has some moment where they shine in some way. Thanks for your great reactions, I love reliving this show through ya!

Henry Law

Big moves for Armin this episode. Lots of potential

Alex G

It's coming soon, it's just stuck processing ;)

Alex G

Wait what happened to the avatar reaction?? Not complaining at all btw haha

hays collins

Armin with confidence is a power more dangerous than any Titan lmao I’ll update after watching

Nick

ah yes, my daily dose of happiness :D

Early upload just in time to watch before I go into work... mood saved
