Korra Comic Reaction - Turf Wars

Comments

Check out YT channel "prince fiction". They edited comic panels with that live reading...

That sounds great. I feel like one big gap in my understanding still is hearing from the creators themselves. I have only read the odd post from them here and there.

This so much. I can't recommend this enough - there are some very cool little tidbits in there!

The art is wayyy better in Ruins of the Empire. I love both comics a lot.

the best part of that entire thing is Mako's VA forgetting how Mako sounded, so literally every other person he voiced sounded like Mako except Mako.

Since you are getting really deep into the Avatar universe I would also recommend watching the Avatar : the Last Airbender Documentary. There are also some interviews with the creators that are interesting and some podcasts. I found one podcast really interesting where the composer Jeremy Zuckerman talks about how he created the music for ATLA and Korra. These are all on Youtube.

I was hoping to react to this actually but the comic is not visible. I'll have to check it out for fun :)

Wow fans think of everything. RoZin? SoKu?

The voice actors from the show did a live reading of the turf wars comics I’d definitely recommend checking it out cause mako and Bolin a voice actors do a hilarious bit during the riko scenes

I thought that might be him! I'm glad :)

Fannon states that roku broke sozins heart that’s why Sozin banned same sex relations it’s kinda silly but that’s why I like it

This seemed reversed to me. In the avatar comics the drawings were amazing haha and the story (only like once or twice) was kind of lacking. But here, I'm loving the story, with korra and asami, and the gang issues as well as the spirit portal conflict. It really makes me feel like I'm watching season 5 of Korra. But the art... kinda questionable. And something else I interpreted differently than you did, is the quote at the end about the lion turtle. I always saw it as a fact how certain knowledge gets lost to time or gets misconceptualized. The lion turtle said that, but as that quote aged, it was commonly thought that Aang himself originally said that, while we know it came from a much more ancient being.

ya know when i said to remember the one spirit that spoke to korra in the last season it was cuz he was in the beginning of this comic I just didn't know his role would go so far XD I remember when i started this and they told korra's parents and her dad was trying to caution her and she said he was narrow minded I felt like korra hadn't learned anything, but with you explaining her hair trigger reaction it makes total sense now! Thank you!

Brimmy

i love the comic but they just can't seem to draw Korra right hahahah
