Only reason why I can watch this episode and most of Season Two tbh, Varrick really carries this show sometimes.

I love this episode, maybe as much I like the Ember's Island one, or even more.... as you saw, there's something special in Korra's realization and Tenzin validading her.

I've heard bits and pieces. I read Brian's statement and I appreciate his outlook on it.

Sokka didn't even need a focus group

Don't know how much you know but Nick really gave them a hard time with this series. This season especially was ducked with. They lowered their budget, hence a clip show episode, moved it exclusively online and made them release it way quicker than they wanted to. I think there was literally just a couple of months between the end of book 3 and this book premiere.

I gotta say, I've never seen anyone get emotional at the clip show before! Glad you enjoyed it. Also when Varrick can't come up with a name for the villains and suggests "Fearsome Foursome" I think that's a reference to Sokka coming up with a name for Team Avatar lol

Right! Korra the weak Avatar with no development.
But yeah, as much as I'm sure a Kuvira episode would have been awesome, I appreciate the fact that this episode was an opportunity to lay out the journey as they saw it. It helped me grasp it in a new way.

While I definitely still would have loved a Kuvira backstory episode, Bryke had to do what was best for them and their team, and I'm happy they chose their team. I think this is still a great episode with how they chose to handle a clipshow. Having the characters, especially Korra & Mako, reflect on their journeys and how far they've come was cool as hell. I think it was fitting for Mako to look back on the relationship part since that's been his main fault for the most part, and it's also something he can definitely learn from, it's even mentioned in another post that we'll get to when the time comes. Similarly for Korra, I appreciate that her flashbacks went well with the overall theme that the show's been going for with her arc. But y'know, Korra's a mary sue that never grows as a person.

Lol I really can't explain why after all this time and all these great, heartfelt episodes, that THIS was the one that got me. I think it was just me catching up to the feeling of the show that had been building all this time. Tenzin and Asami's conversation with Korra really drove it home in a big way.

That was hilarious. And although it didn't land with me the first time, I also love the jokes about Vatu being a kite.

Thank you :)
It seems like the creators have gone through so much. I had a conversation with a friend when I found out they had left the live-action (I don't know much about the story I just heard that it had happened) and we were talking about how unfortunate it is that there are sometimes these obstacles to people who have such great vision.

I love that you reflect the show onto your own personal thoughts and questions. You are one of the few reactors that I feel genuinely brings the whole experience to a new level. I see a lot of myself in these videos, and I truly appreciate your openness. Just like in this episode you were saying Tenzin seemed to answer your questions, you have done something similar for me. By chance, you seem to address a lot of the things that are on my mind as I'm thinking them too. I feel like I've been able to go on to newer questions thanks to the insight you've shared.
I'm excited for these next few episodes, and it sucks that it has to end soon. :( I've never really been interested in FMA but I'll stick around because I know you'll view it with a lens I can resonate with. Great Video!

I feel that I've underrated this episode in the past when first watching TLK, and seeing it again makes me more appreciative of the humor and touching scenes. I can never watch the season 3 finale without sobbing like a baby, and I found it funny that you FINALLY got teary in this episode, though Tenzin really brought those feels home.

"No time for thinking kid we're heading into the big finale" I dont know why but I think that was the creators talking directly to us haha

Really appreciated your insight into this episode. Many reactors find it skippable but I think despite everything, it was a welcome addition to the season. Nickelodeon really put the writers through the wringer to make this show and this was one of the more evident displays of that. Either way, I loved your reaction. I am very very excited for the next two. No spoilers but the next episode is one I have a feeling you'll really enjoy!

Thanks, I really appreciate that. The Varrick section is amazing but yeah, the Korra segment really got me! I feel like it did such a great job encapsulating her journey, and there's something so beautiful about that and relatable to the human experience and to anybody who feels like they are doing their best day after day but who sometimes lose focus on the big picture.

If Shyamalan directed it, Varrick's character would be "dark" and "serious" to really "ground the character" π

Loved your reaction man! I know people fame the last section of this episode more than the rest, but like you, I really resonate with the second part with Korra, Asami and Tenzin. Korra is my favorite character in this show, and I really connect with her struggles, and while I know they will make her stronger, its still so painful to watch. It can be so easy to just sit in your pain and do nothing with it. Simply stewing on it won't get you far, but it can feel so much more comforting than facing the world. Thats why I really resonated with the Korra Alone episode, and with her still ongoing mental struggle. I am so excited to see what you think about tomorrow's episode. See you then!

We all know that the live action atla movie was just a live action version of ember island players... so I say now we need a live action Korra movie but Varricks version

I like what he wrote about turning lemons into lemonade. It shows a rare dedication that I appreciate. And ultimately I thought this was a powerful episode. The Varrick stuff was really good but I think by that point I was kind of emotionally burned out lol

The creators seriously nailed both Recap episodes in both ATLA and Korra. The Ember Island Players is the best but this recap is also incredible and done completely differently. When Varrick takes over this episode, it goes into absolute GOD TIER stuff.
