Upcoming schedule and new series!

With Korra finishing up next week (😢), I just wanted to go over the schedule for the next month or so and a few other things before I announce it on YouTube.
- The last episode of Korra will be up on Patreon Wednesday, November 4th.
- After that, I’m going to do the two Korra comics and also a Korra Q&A video, similar to the one I did after ATLA.
- For the next series, since there was so much support for both Dragon Prince and Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood, I am planning on doing them simultaneously. Additionally, on Saturday, November 11th, the ATLA rewatch begins!
What that will probably look like is probably something like:
Patreon Schedule
FMAB: Sunday - Tuesday
DP: Wednesday - Friday
Saturday: ATLA rewatch
Sunday: (Optional one-off videos, like movie reactions, book reviews, or whatever else)
YouTube Schedule
FMAB: Monday - Wednesday
DP: Thursday - Saturday
Sunday: (Optional one-off videos, like movie reactions, book reviews, or whatever else)
That means a minimum of 7 videos a week on Patreon, and 6 on YouTube. I'm hoping this strikes the best balance between what the most people want to see, and also provides some variety to the channel :)
Additionally, I am expecting to get some editing help very soon, which means over time I can increase the frequency of these videos, with possible overlapping days.
For example
FMAB: Sunday - Wednesday
DP: Wednesday - Friday
Saturday: ATLA rewatch
- About the rewatch: Right now I'm planning on following the schedule I originally followed when watching for the first time (meaning many of the rewatch episodes will contain 2 episodes of ATLA). That will give me a chance to not only watch the show but also my own reactions and see how my perspectives have changed or stayed the same. It also prevents the rewatch from taking 61 weeks.
If possible, once I adjust to the new schedule, I will try to accelerate the rewatch and maybe go through more than two episodes at a time.
- About FMAB: I asked some friends who are big fans, and they explained that Brotherhood sticks more faithfully to the original manga, whereas the older anime departed from the storyline at some point. While I'm sure the original FMA series is amazing, and while I have heard that the beginning of Brotherhood stacks the plot in the beginning to catch up to where the previous series departed, I have decided to start with Brotherhood since overall it seems to be the most complete work in the series. Also, I have decided to watch the dub since I've heard it is done relatively well, and also since I think the dub works much better for a reaction series (subtitles would probably be no fun on the tiny "display" screen in the video).
I think that's it. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the schedule going forward.
Otherwise, I'm looking forward to the new series and very excited for everything else to come!

This is great! I love this plan moving forward. I've never seen FMA, but I've seen season one of Dragon Prince so maybe this is a good time to get into both. I know this means we're a long way out from picking up a new show, but I highly recommend She-Ra. It's the first show I watched since Avatar that I think captures the same magic. Anyways, excited to see all of this, and to hear more of your thoughts on Kyoshi!

2020-10-31 15:15:51 +0000 UTCIf you are doing 2 series you should consider staggering episodes instead of dedicating a half week to each. Would mean shorter wait times for those only interested in 1 series and you get less pauses between watch sessions.

Super stoked you picked up FMAB. It's literally my favorite piece of media ever and I've probably seen it close to a dozen times at this point. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on it. Also, good choice picking the dub; it's masterfully done and the definitive version for me. This and Cowboy Bebop are the only anime that I tell people to watch dubbed.
