Bonus Content questions and the ATLA rewatch
Added 2020-09-18 05:28:31 +0000 UTCHey guys!
I thought it might be good idea to make a schedule for bonus content. I also wanted to get your thoughts on the ATLA rewatch, which I have been looking forward to for quite some time :D
So right now I am thinking that the rewatch will start in October, with comic book reactions between now and then.
For the rewatch, I am thinking of doing full reactions, similar to the extended Korra videos, while also watching my original reaction videos to make fun of mys... I mean to see how my perspectives have changed. Let me know if there's anything else in particular you'd like to see for these videos.
ALSO, my hope is that by next month or maybe November I'll be able to do more videos per week, so in addition to the comic reactions and the rewatch, I'd love to hear about anything else you'd like to see.
Here are some ideas I'm planning on doing already (either here or on YouTube)
- Kyoshi novel reviews
- ATLA pilot reaction
- Watching HelloFutureMe's videos (when I finish Korra)
Let me know what you'd like to see and I'll do my best to add it to the list!

ATLA gets better every time you watch it to a degree I’ve never seen with other shows. Knowing what’s happening next let’s you really put puzzle pieces together and see character actions more clearly. Also excited for season 3-4 of Korra, they’re my fav and I think the best two for sure. (they were made as a pair to bounce off of each other, unlike season 1 and 2)

2020-09-18 15:19:39 +0000 UTCI have to agree. Watching Korra and ATLA at the same time isn't a good idea, but at the same time I'm dying to see the ATLA rewatch and the rest of Korra.

2020-09-18 14:16:21 +0000 UTCWatching HellloFutureMe's video's on ATLA and Korra is an absolutely fantastic idea. As amazing as you are Goodwin, Tim takes the cake for best ATLA/Korra content creator (You're a close second). Also, I think structuring the ATLA Rewatch videos similar to the Extended Korra videos is a perfect format, and continuing your usual style of pausing the show every now and then to give thoughts about things. Seeing someone react and then re-react to ATLA on YouTube with also quality videos is something I never thought I would get, and I'm so hyped for you to begin to rewatch.

2020-09-18 12:24:47 +0000 UTCAn ATLA rewatch is definitely a good idea is a great way to discuss parallels and differences between the two series. Whenever I re-watch ATLA and see Aang in the Avatar State, I now think about how he’s not only drawing upon past Avatars, but he’s also accessing Ravaa’s light spirit.

2020-09-18 12:18:45 +0000 UTCReally looking forward to the ATLA rewatch! Everything you mentioned sounds very exciting!

2020-09-18 10:48:35 +0000 UTCHaha, well, I already made these recs but I'll just echo (again whoops) that I'd like to see a Escape from the Spirit World reaction, between book 2 and 3 of your ATLA rewatch would be a good place since that's when it takes place. I didn't mention it then but there's some nods to it in the Kyoshi novels too btw! And yeah, Republic City Hustle's good, it'll give you some nice insight into Mako and Bolin's life. Both of these are on youtube, the Republic City Hustle one has an official upload and the Spirit World ones are a bit lower quality but yeah, all there. Okay, that's the last time I'm bringing these up, lol.

2020-09-18 09:24:19 +0000 UTCI’ve really been enjoying watching Avatar Tiktoks recently. I saw one recently that broke down Zukos fighting style progression over the course of the show. And it’s also cool to laugh at the funnier more lighthearted videos. And if you want to avoid spoilers maybe your patrons could submit them to you in a post on here.

2020-09-18 09:12:24 +0000 UTCGoodwin: "I will watch HFM videos on ATLA" Me, who wants a reaction to a one hour long Azula's psychology breakdown: "Oh yes.. It's all coming together"

2020-09-18 08:38:59 +0000 UTCYou gotta watch bojack horseman, it would fit you and this channel in such a perfect way.

2020-09-18 07:45:28 +0000 UTCAlthough this would not be a reaction video, but after you get to know the whole canon I would like to see a video where you analyze the characters or an aspect of the show since you are so good at looking at things that most people miss. It's basically the stuff that you speak about in the reaction videos but put in a video itself. I bet there must be loads of stuff you can talk about. Of course this will need a lot of research and editing, but I believe that even if you upload such a video once per month or two, this will really give your channel a lot of exposure and really show the new folks why your subscriber base finds you so appealing.

2020-09-18 07:43:11 +0000 UTCwow great plan batman! i cant wait to see this =)

2020-09-18 07:22:04 +0000 UTCit's definitely a fun show. and one of the few where I never skipped the intro mostly just to catch the sbtle differences they'd change with each season, sometimes each episode depending, it's cool. definitely look forward to that eventually.

2020-09-18 06:57:05 +0000 UTCHaha yeah it is funny :) I'm looking forward to that too, weirdly, although I know it's going to be painful at times.

2020-09-18 06:43:19 +0000 UTCeverything sounds great! I would love to see your reaction to your past reaction (thats a weird sentence)

2020-09-18 06:40:08 +0000 UTCThe show looks really good (based on reviews I've read about it) and I'd love to watch it at some point. A lot of people mention how surprised they were by how much they liked it lol

2020-09-18 06:24:51 +0000 UTCAwesome, sounds great :D

2020-09-18 06:21:19 +0000 UTCI love all of these ideas. I absolutely can't wait to hear your thoughts on the Kyoshi novels as they're probably now my favorite addition to the Avatarverse so far, and I love the comics. As I've said before as far as other suggestions I'd love to see your reaction to the She Ra reboot on netflix. I know it's not everyone's thing, and I certainly didn't expect it to be mine but I feel like you'd have some interesting insights on a lot of things in there.
WolfWarrior623
2020-09-18 06:18:25 +0000 UTCThis sounds awesome! There are some funny ATLA recap videos by Cas van de pol that are worth reacting to. Each video covers a season and lasts anywhere from 6-15 minutes. Even if you don't react, you should check them out. They're pretty funny.

2020-09-18 06:10:28 +0000 UTCAre you planning on reading the Korra Comics once you finish the series?

2020-09-18 06:02:26 +0000 UTCYou're right, it's pretty treacherous. It's like Google exists to ruin shows for you
Alex G
2020-09-18 06:02:05 +0000 UTCHmmm just my opinion i guess but i really dont think you should watch ATLA and korra at the same time. given you've already seen ATLA . but with whats upcoming in Korra it will be very hard to bounce back and forth between the two and harder for you to give korras best season the full attention it deserves. but im all for cranking out as much korra as possible in these next couple weeks and then doing an ATLA rewatch. if you finish korra first it would make ATLA that much more fun

2020-09-18 05:59:06 +0000 UTCBe careful googling and stuff, thumbnails and titles have spoilers ~everywhere~! 😂

2020-09-18 05:58:20 +0000 UTCSounds great. It's really amazing how much material there is in the Avatar universe. I keep learning about new things.
Alex G
2020-09-18 05:55:06 +0000 UTCYeah I'd like to read the Korra comics as well. I think ultimately I will end up consuming the entire Avatar universe lol. For the rewatch, there are a few options. One option would be to follow the original schedule I did on YouTube, where for a lot of the series I did 2 episodes per video. But that would mean cutting the rewatch videos down in size, since otherwise 2 full episodes plus commentary plus watching my own reaction would mean over an hour of video each time ^^ Another option, and what I'm leaning towards, is just watching each episode of ATLA as its own video, and then watching my initial reaction as its own separate video. But I still haven't quite decided and I wanted to get a better sense for what would be the most fun to watch :)
Alex G
2020-09-18 05:54:09 +0000 UTCThere is a youtube short that is canon called republic city hustle it’s about mako and Bolin as young children that’s worth checking out
DrowsyCody
2020-09-18 05:50:41 +0000 UTCDo the comics include the Korra ones? I know there's 6 for ATLA (3 of which you've done already) and 2 for Korra. Obviously the Korra ones will be after your done with the show. Is the rewatch gonna be episode by episode again or another way?

2020-09-18 05:48:41 +0000 UTCSmoke and Shadow is coming Saturday :) And yeah that does sound fun. I will check that out
Alex G
2020-09-18 05:45:42 +0000 UTCMore comics! There's currently three more after the rift for ATLA, and currently two after Korra. The Korra voice actors even did a special reading of the first comic on youtube over quarantine, which I'm mostly saying because its fun to watch, I'm not sure its something to react to.

2020-09-18 05:44:25 +0000 UTCMy friend also has the delisted Korra game on his PSN account so I might play that one too lol

2020-09-18 05:44:22 +0000 UTCThat's right I have heard about that. I will try to find it.

2020-09-18 05:43:38 +0000 UTCNo worries :D I'm looking forward to watching it. I hear that Sokka's VA does one of the leads.
Alex G
2020-09-18 05:42:59 +0000 UTCThere was a canonical ATLA online “game” that came out in ~2007. It takes place between Book 2 and Book 3. If you haven’t already looked into it, you can read the story and all the new lore it gives on its ATLA wiki page, “Escape from the Spirit World.” I haven’t read the Kyoshi books yet, but some of it might be relevant.

2020-09-18 05:42:39 +0000 UTCMy apologies! I didn't even know there was a poll lol. That's great though. Would love to see it.

2020-09-18 05:39:26 +0000 UTCI've seen the chibi shorts and they were a lot of fun. Definitely planning on doing the unaired pilot

2020-09-18 05:38:14 +0000 UTCAwesome, I just found the YouTube channel. I will check it out :)
Alex G
2020-09-18 05:37:21 +0000 UTCI'd love to see you do another avatar rewatch. I've seen it so many times and still pick up on little things I hadn't noticed before. Also, I would highly recommend the dragon prince at some point if you haven't already seen it. It's written by one of the head writers for avatar and is a great show (if you can get past the choppy frame rate of the first season).

2020-09-18 05:37:03 +0000 UTCI love these ideas! You should also react to the avatar chibi shorts and the original unaired pilot! They’re both available on the official avatar the last airbender YouTube Channel!
