I was trying to wean off adderall and I very, very quickly figured out, “oh no oh dear, this stuff is way, way worse.” It was hard to stop after only getting it like…. A couple times. Yikes.

2025-11-10 20:40:38 +0000 UTCThank you for speaking about Kratom. I know someone who has been addicted for many years. Unable to stop because the withdrawal is so horrendous. Check out the Reddit thread r/quittingkratom to get a sense of it, as people post about their struggles and offer support for others. So many stories of people using it to come off opioids and are just trading one horrible addiction for another. The withdrawal is equally horrible. It truly needs to be placed in a controlled substance category with heroin or amphetamines. The fact that it can be bought by anyone is terrifying. And let us not forget that alcohol - a powerful addictive drug - is also sold at gas stations, so not everything sold at a gas station is safe. This needs to be talked about more because I think so many people are suffering through Kratom addiction in silence.
