20th anniversary of you know what

Hey all! To start with the most important bit, I don't think I'll be able to release an early access version this month for the FET build which I'm currently working on.

I will probably release the bughunt version this month, but that's the best case scenario. I had a late start this month(because the same thing happened in January) and because the last Titan build was especially buggy! Oh and because February is simply a short month. I have enough trouble keeping things within a month on my best days so when February arrives, I'm usually guaranteed to be late. I don't think I've ever been able to catch up once I started lagging. That means I'll release the early access version sometime in the first week of March. Unless I can pull off a small miracle.

I think most of you who have been with MITY for a while probably already saw this coming.

I AM currently proceeding very nicely with the build, but I've had a few days where it was the opposite. It's been a while but I had one of my "everything I do is shit and all of this must be redone or deleted" moments.

It's something which hits me typically once or twice a year. It basically makes me deeply hate whatever I do and did in the past. I'm not saying the stuff I draw doesn't have a lot of room to grow(it does!) but this feeling I'm talking about goes waaay beyond that. It makes me feel like I have shovels for hands and had those since birth.

It's during those times I start redrawing stuff and only make it worse. I managed to shake that off again, but that mood sucks all motivation straight out of me and can last for days.

Just because that's over it doesn't mean I don't still want to improve things. When the "everything sucks" mood passes, it makes way for a more normal "this can be better" state of mind. Let me give you an example of something I have redone recently.

You might notice the way she's crossing her arms in version A isn't exactly natural looking. It looks like she broke her damn wrists!

I couldn't let that slide any longer so I've been changing that to what you see in version b. It may not be a "world shattering" improvement, but it's now less of an eyesore. I originally redid her entire idle during my bad mood and made it horrible.

But like I said already, I got that out of my system now and am enjoying drawing again while still being able to see where I can improve stuff.

Seven Havens

Another thing I'd like to talk about is ... the official announcement of a new Avatar cartoon called "Seven Havens" on the 20th year anniversary of ATLA a few days ago. Woohoooo!! No release date yet, but we have a name and a premise.

There have already been leaks and such for it a few months ago, but so far I managed to not look too deep into those. I did now though and though I haven't exactly done a deep dive I'm not certain whether I feel optimistic or not.

First of all I already have ATLA and TLOK, so anything new can be the worst of the worst and I'm still not going to be upset or badmouthing it(too much), since I already have "the prize" so to speak... but I'd still like for the new avatar cartoon to be good.

A few things I heard about it made me raise an eyebrow and foster some doubts, but we'll see as some images and more info will be released over time.

Personally, I'd still like an official up-scaled and widescreen version of avatar the last Airbender. Maybe by using AI for the brunt of the work and having real animators/artist do a cleanup afterwards? That seems doable to me with the current tech.

It would've been awesome if they had done that for the 20th anniversary, wouldn't it? Oh well...

Do I have anything else to mention of importance or otherwise... hmmm no I don't think so. Alright back to work for me! Oh wait, I see I still have a bunch of unanswered pm's Okay I'll take a crack at those first so if you've been waiting for me to reply it shouldn't take me much longer. Otherwise just pm me again.
