Done and doing
- Finished the new important scene.
- Finished(finally) the new Ty Lee scene.
- Finished a background.
- Finished two new battle units!
- Working on a "more than one" girl scene. It has more than one stage and more than one character so it takes a lot of time
- Working on the endscene. Another one with a lot of work/time going into it.
Scene's are slowly getting more complex and the advantage(time) you have because of gained experience is quickly destroyed because you start putting in more drawings/options etc. The next build is shaping up to be a nice one, but not very likely to be the last one before we can say this route's done.
This sometimes makes us wonder if we shouldn't dial back on content in favor of going faster. If we had done everything the way we did in book 1, (no farm, no blackjack, keeping the same simple battle engine, mostly two frame animations etc) with just new text and drawings, we'd be a lot faster. But don't those changes/additions keep things from becoming stale?
we're incredibly lucky to have this many people supporting us and that makes us want to do the best we can to keep things fun and fresh without slowing down too much, but finding that balance can be difficult.
we're about 11 days away from a new build (for all you $5 tier patrons) and these last 11 days will pass a lot faster than the first 11 so we need to make good use of them while we still can!
I'd also like to mention we truly spend most of our spare time on getting the next build as interesting as we can get it to be which means we don't nearly spend as much time as we could (and maybe should) reading/answering questions etc in the comments, especially older posts! so if you reaaally need an answer from us on something, sending us a private message has the biggest chance of being read.
