AC Real V1.29 - Creating more natural lighting.
Added 2024-08-06 03:18:45 +0000 UTCHey, we're back and another update is ready to be pushed out to you all! I felt that the last version of the filter still left a few things to be desired, so this update focused on improving performance, while also creating more soft, natural lighting that isn't harsh on the eyes. To achieve this the ambient light, reflections, bloom, and emissive lighting are now significantly more intense. Now, anything that emits light is significantly more powerful. There was also a somewhat drastic dimming effect of all lights to avoid overly bright morning/evening lights, but the filter actually handles these surprisingly well thanks to the new lighting adjustments, so now there is no need.
To go with this, tonemapping also got some more major changes. the system now consists of only Movie and GT profiles, with sliders that allow for fine-tuning of contrast for each. This allows the user to personalize the filter a little more than before.

I also did heavy, heavy testing of a new exposure method by doing what I consider to be an unnecessary amount of driving on both Shutoko and Gunma (courtesy of C13's reskins for both tracks) and the results were breath-taking. Now, the scene should be bright when needed, and dark if you so choose to make it that way.
