The Tik Tok people were very wrong, and what we discover instead is far more horrific. Julian and Brad are forced to cope as Jake tells the devastating story of “Brother’s Home”, an 80s era South Korean so-called ‘Wellness Center’ that turns out to be anything but.

I visited the USSR twice and worked politically with socialists in a bunch of post-Communist countries. As is usually the case, people are going ape on a bunch of straw men because their view of Left history is cobbled together from social media posts rather than any connection to political struggle before 2016. People have already discovered how horrid the US is, has been, and is likely to be. They already went through the myopic and ultimately so American view that all world evil centers on the US, and any of its enemies must be virtuous in comparison. They went through this, went on detours through cultish sects and then, usually, got over it and stopped having a noob attitude about fighting capitalism.

I’m shocked that QAnonners don’t talk about this more often, frankly, because it’s wild. I looked it up to see if I was even remembering a real think, and I was. The serum isn’t so much made directly from foreskins but rather from stem cells taken from foreskins. I’m sure that the reason they’re Korean foreskins is that South Korea has a very large and high-tech beauty industry and a higher rate of circumcision (thanks to American influence) than most countries, so it was probably developed there. Still seems ethically pretty dubious to me, and kind of a fucked up thing to joke about on the Ellen show. So yeah, if Julian starts looking younger all of a sudden maybe it’s because his girlfriend Sandy Bullock is giving him some of her Korean foreskin adrenochrome.

Would seriously recommend the podcast 'Blowback' - it hasn't covered everything yet but it goes deep into the historical details using leaked information, FOI reports, whistleblower testimonials and outright admittions of politicians years on from the times, cos if you're honestly serious about seeking justice, fighting for left wing progress and combatting the creeping rise of far right fascism, I cannot overstate how necessary it is to at least understand the obstacles, resistances and tactics consistently deployed to stamp out left wing progress in its many forms, so we can form new methods and techniques to uphold solidarity, maneuver around and achieve actual results for the future of our bleakly self destructive state of species. We can't keep up the naivety like this cos every damn time we getting blindsided by the ruthless underhanded tactics of the right wing for over century (at least!) already. We need results not vibes.

Listing to that super cringe ahistorical rant about the US was painful. Of course the US has committed all kinds of atrocities and injustices, but talking about the Cold War as if the US was a unilateral atrocity engine and not one bloody half of a great power struggle is just naive. Countries aren't good guys and bad guys. This is an important story about inexcusable abuses done in part in the name of anti-Communism, a story that should be told and re-told. But you don't have to erase what was happening north of the border or elsewhere under Communist governments.
