This Dave Weigel guy seems to have a really balanced, informed perspective. Excellent guest. I've heard some leftist podcasts respond to the "rose-colored glasses" thing with total incredulity, calling it a lie, but it's a real problem showing up in polls, focus groups, and street interviews, as Mr. Weigel explained. (That's why I also listen to Pod Save America, even though I've been so frustrated and angered by their relatively soft stance on Biden's Gaza policies that I unsubscribed twice in the past ten months. But I keep crawling back, because their insider insights on the nuances of what is politically possible in the current system are irreplaceable with the often uninformed speculations of leftist armchair commentators I have more ideological agreement with. Which is also why I _don't_ listen to Pod Save the UK...)
