Why am I learning about this on this stupid show? I watched this woman get treated like a serious candidate on the debate stage.

2022-12-18 12:51:02 +0000 UTCWhen I briefly thought "what if it's true?" when I was younger about the reptilian conspiracy theory, the only things that seemed to give it any weight at all were that I'd heard of it. Plus there were shitty powerful people in the world. It didn't last long but even still I wish someone had spoken to me to say you know, capitalism is more than enough to explain the problems. We don't need conspiracy theories to explain it. Capitalism is enough.

2022-12-16 14:12:16 +0000 UTCI mean, when I was a kid, I believed in everything: ESP, ghosts and demons, UFOs, bigfoot, you name it. But I was a kid growung up in the 70s (and I was a child/teen). How can so many adults believe in reptilian conspiracies? A lack of the teaching of proper critical thinking skills?
2022-12-14 23:28:16 +0000 UTCI think the Jake doth protest too much. As if he hasnβt tried to solicit some foot worship.

2022-12-14 05:26:31 +0000 UTCI thought he was saying "syph," as in syphilis, until I realized it was an acronym for the group's name. Given some of the gross practices that group was into, I'd guess that both those shoes fit.

2022-12-13 21:41:50 +0000 UTCI get a lot of shit in leftist circles for saying new-age mysticism is inherently reactionary, but I get the feeling it's just gonna keep becoming more obvious as far-right shit escalates.

2022-12-13 13:01:19 +0000 UTCItβs interesting that theyβre a psycho hippie cult but extremely right wing. Meanwhile wasnβt the big right wing fear of hippies in the β60s that they would become weird cult psycho Commies? Turns out theyβre fine with the cult psycho shit so long as the cult is insanely right wing.

2022-12-13 11:52:41 +0000 UTCI thought he was saying "Sith" instead of "SIF." If the shoe fits...

2022-12-13 07:17:55 +0000 UTCThis episode is how I learned that the hippy-dippy grocery store I got vegetarian food from when I lived in Honolulu was run by a right-wing cult.
