Paglia army lol. Speaking of Camilla Paglia, I doubt you'll make an episode about her but someone needs to. She's just as bonkers and reactionary as Wolf. Although not as entertaining.

You can gauge a person by how they respond to a Tucker interview. See: Rutger Bregman vs Glenn Greenwald

Can we get a Dr. Mercola episode? https://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2021/06/15/does-vanguard-and-blackrock-own-the-world.aspx?ui=8bb0090636aba01dcf973bc69f053f6d52c7909092f19fabf81889d674269975&sd=19000101&cid_source=prnl&cid_medium=email&cid_content=art1HL&cid=20210615_HL2&mid=DM911261&rid=1183801063&p4=20110604&p5&fbclid=IwAR2j_DRKAjubsn5ToborC54dQXDFf9SOjx2rNlVq-dOWLP2JkIeIrWPBMg0

From a purely research-oriented perspective, it's people like Naomi Wolf that give the humanities such a bad rep. Of course, her chumming up with right-wing nutters doesn't help either.

I'm surprised she's buddy-buddy with Tucker Carlson - for someone who wrote a book about vaginas you'd think she'd know a c**t when she sees one?

I was a teenage baby feminist Beauty Myth stan, so I really want to listen to this episode, but it’s going to be painful, not gonna lie.

Tucker saying bipartisanship is silly made me laugh the most. Don't worry, most of the time I wanted to bang my head against the wall as usual.

When I read the Beauty Myth in the early 90’s I remember looking at the author pic on the back cover and wondering if this woman had any sense that she was herself innately attractive. Like, she goes off, telling women to stop trying to look like her, basically.

Worst and most alarming, at least at the time, she was doing all of this straight through January 6 without a word or a nod to the storming of the Capitol. It shocked me and I looked at her timeline more than once to see if I’d missed it. Nada. She acted as if Jan 6 was just a normal day in NaomiLand. Unbelievable, until one considers who her new allies are and how little they would appreciate her taking note of their treasonous inclinations, I guess. Ugh.

"Beauty Myth" is 30 years old. 30 years is a very long time, in which Naomi Wolf went from an un-rigorous English Lit PhD writing on a subject that at least she had personal experience with (as opposed to professional experience, which she had none), to a nutjob conspiracy theorist defending fascists and neo-Nazis, still lacking any degree of rigor and writing on topics she has zero professional experience with.

I have been watching Wolf (and have diligently and respectfully been trolling her idiocy each step of her descent into this Hell she’s created for herself. It’s been a study in relativism; her game misuse/misreading of numbers and statistics and the reaching conclusions they garner. Her true motivations have ultimately shown a pure and rather venal desire for attention. She hasn’t played victim as much as one might expect —being dumped and ridiculed as much as she has. Her large group of “new friends” don’t judge her at all (or expect anything like veracity and due diligence from her. It’s been a pathetic and illuminating show on her part. She retweets literally anything—I’ve called her on it many times. Any idiotic statement that also praises her most of all. It’s a study in thirst.

Also that BBC interview gave me full body chills

Fantastic episode. She's the perfect example of white feminism, as Annie said - she's only interested in a problem if she is the main character. I tried to read Vagina because I thought the concept was interesting, but I was so turned off by the classism and narcissism in the opening chapter I stopped.

great ep. is the nyt reporter who asks her to take down the posts "Rukmini Callimachi"? cant find the timecode again to check the name. she is the caliphate podcaster who fell for someone impersonating an isis member and made them a main story in the podcast.

It's so common that wikipedia mentions this on the literal first paragraph on their page on Corporatism: "Corporatism does not refer to a political system dominated by large business interests, even though the latter are commonly referred to as "corporations" in modern American legal and pop cultural parlance; instead, the correct term for this theoretical system would be corporatocracy."

Oh god her misreading knows no ends. When she brings up Mussolini she makes the common misconception that one of the founding ideas of Italian Fascism, Corporatism has anything to do with Corporations.
