I then made a tumblr and went "I wonder what people are posting about these shows!" That single decision resulted in me no longer watching either show, because every time I tried to watch an episode all I could think about was how bad the tumblr posts were going to be.

While it's good for a laugh, I also feel terribly for all of the people who just want representation so badly they're willing to ignore obvious baiting in hopes they'll finally get something they DO deserve as much as anyone. It's funny, but it also hurts a lot to see their desperation. With all conspiracies they form around that little kernel of truth, and it's not the offhand comments in the show - it's the fact that this sphere is under-represented and being manipulated.

2021-05-29 23:08:26 +0000 UTCI'm surprised nobody has mentioned the fandom monstrosity that was SuperWhoLock (a mixture of Supernatural, Doctor Who, and Sherlock). Those three shows DOMINATED Tumblr back in the day. Even if you didn't follow any blogs about them, the gifs and posts from the fandom would still be on your feed.
