What I found interesting when travelling there was how quiet it was in cities too -- they have a lot of laws policing noise pollution. They don't care about nightlife or gaudy displays of wealth (even though they have the money to do so). Just a lot of good infrastructure and parks and museums. Stuff everyone can enjoy. Surreal place.

2024-01-30 13:16:38 +0000 UTCOne thing I love about Switzerland, and it's why I keep going back there, is that the people themselves and whole infrastructure seem to integrate with the landscape and nature. They rather have slightly inconvenient roads than bulldozing through a mountainside. They rather pay a bit extra to get produce and dairy from natural sources, than get cheap mass-produced factory food.

2024-01-25 11:54:34 +0000 UTCDubu wasn’t wrong about the mountain picture lol. They did have one hanging in the room. They might have spent some time at each cable stop to help adjust. Altitude sickness in part depends on where you’re from and used to.

2024-01-25 09:23:03 +0000 UTCi didn’t feel sick on this mountain but my mom did (it wasn’t because of the altitude but the temperature) there was another mountain that was even higher in another area that i almost collapsed on because of the high altitude

2024-01-25 08:40:31 +0000 UTCFYI. The escalator in the store is designed to take your shopping trolley (cart) up and down. they usually magnetiise the wheels and it just pulls it up and down without having to hang on to it.
