June 2025 Release - Contents
Added 2025-06-30 16:00:23 +0000 UTCJoin at the Supporter tier or higher to get this month's new release immediately.
This month was a split between adding new content for Junko 0, making the full prologue of the game (A big milestone!) and upgrading one of Charlotte's scenes. There was a lot to do to re-write dialogue lines I had scripted previously but weren't complete and didn't reflect the ideas of the game quite right. So the number of dialogue lines added to the game is lower than the real number with edits and re-writes.
Prologue
You're gonna want to start a new game just to see this. :D
This is the big one for the month. By itself, the prologue is about a 15 minute sequence and tells the story of what is actually going on better than any simple intro card could ever do.
In addition to getting a better first look at Charlotte and Magnus and how they play into the MC's life, this introduces Sathuriel the demon more properly, and the premise/deal with the devil at the heart of the gameplay loop.
And he makes use of a liminal space that he drags the MC to in order to bait him into the deal with images of the expanding potential of MC's love interests. We'll see more of this place later, and it will almost certainly be the home of character screens later for each romance as they are unlocked.
Speaking of the Main Character, I'm calling him MC now since the default name--Dean--is now customizable in the prologue! You get to choose your name on your way into the game. For people who care about immersion, this should help you get into it.
Junko
Say hi to Junko Yoshida!
This adorable little Japanese transplant to America is working on overcoming her extreme discomfort with living an American life, and the weight of Japanese culture pressing on her to represent well for her people.
Since she's a long-distance character at first (just wait for level 1!) the whole of her interactions are in cell phone exchanges. The opening of her story comes in going back-and-forth with her until she's ready to ask for some advice, and then branches into several aspects of life she needs help with.
This work is incomplete so far, but there should be a ton of conversation variants to try with her until next month. She sends some cute picture messages depending on the direction of the conversation but nothing spicy yet.

Her mom, Rin, is going to show up in some of her pictures. This one comes from the day she helped move Junko into her new apartment in Seattle.
IDM After Dark Upgrade
In Charlotte's story, ending up at work with her on Thursday night features heavily, and if you thread the needle you can catch her in the mood to push her own boundaries up until she chickens out and runs away. And by all means, check out this version of the scene (already existing content).
Well. Charlotte isn't so timid after level 0, so level her up to 1 and then go into this scene and make a pass at her. You'll find her much, much more willing to touch or be touched. But there will still be impediments to further sexplay once building security passes by.

UI/Audio Changes
The quest to make sure music and sound exists all over the game continues.
The MC apartment has music now (and it's the same song that opens the prologue--because consistency)
Sathuriel's conversations have very dramatic music (and this is also used in the prologue, making it Sathuriel's de facto theme song)
With the increased focus on text messages, there is a double-vibe sound for text notifications to accompany the on-screen notification.
The phone starts the game laying down on the desk in the bedroom. On the first iteration of the loop, your MC will refuse to pick it up, which is part of the plan for making a 'model' first week with a streamlined set of options as a tutorial week before letting you go your own way (very much WIP). It is justified in game by MC's concerns that this may not be real or he is getting tricked in some way.
But on loops 2+ you can pick up the phone and he will just keep it at all times, or set it down and he'll leave it, including through the start of the next loop. This is mostly to prevent having to pick up the phone every single time a new week starts. Some decisions and options across the game will depend on having the phone (or sometimes, on NOT having it).
Next Up
Junko's story will continue with phone calls, pictures, videos, and the camera and gallery apps on the phone, so lots of new phone features to implement.
