Release Notes:
Edgeville Launcher with Screen Resolution Support Added
- The new launcher will allow the user the choice to launch Edgeville in Windowed or Non-Windowed mode, Fullscreen or Non-Fullscreen mode, and supports most screen resolutions that are not Ultra-Wide.
UI Design Update
- The Heads-Up-Display (HUD) UI has been changed and given a more polished look. UI elements are now animated and give more information when events occur. While still being incomplete, this goes a long way to get the game feel more refined and finished as opposed to feeling like a prototype.
Removed Panic Screen
- While the "Panic Screen" that was shown when the user pressed "Escape" was needed for users who may live in households with other members, it is unnecessary now that the launcher allows for Windowed Game Mode. It has been removed, with plans to add it as an option within In-Game Settings in the future. A normal Pause screen has now replaced it, with the possibility of adding more menu items in the future.
Minor Changes to Neighborhood
- Neighborhood changes were not a priority for this release, but some more driveways and windows were added to start filling the space in a bit more.
Major Bug Fix
- There was a bug in the code that could potentially break the game if the user tried to load a previously saved game. The bug completely affected Dexter's Mom's storyline and would prevent users from seeing her adult sex scenes. The bug consisted occurs due to an improper saving of the DayNightCycle data regarding the day of the year . This means that when the user loaded a previously saved game, the "Park Day" event wouldn't be recognized because the day of the year would be equal to 0. This made Dexter's Mom stay in the park forever, never triggering an event for her to go home. Sometimes it meant she wouldn't even go to the park at all depending on when you decided to save the game.
About this release:
A lot of changes happened on the backend that is necessary before more characters are added. Users won't be able to access these changes or programming extensions directly, but it is present in the code and will allow for added features in the near future. The focus of this release was to ensure that these systems were in place and could be tested upon throughout the development of future features.
