Explanation on how my Patreon project works

Hello everyone!

I'm making this post to clarify how my Patreon works, since I tend to get asks now and then asking the same question here or on my other social media accounts.

Currently I'm doing a series of illustrations on Patreon called "Videogame Hunks" where I create artwork (Both SFW & NSFW) of characters from videogames, I tend to produce 2 sets of illustrations per month (2 characters per month) and some months there's a special Bonus Reward which can be extra artwork or 1 or more characters.

Now, as I have stated on the teaser posts, it's an "exclusive, time limited" project, what does this mean?

-By exclusive I mean that the full illustrations aren't posted elsewhere, they're exclusive to backers, other than small/cropped bits used for the Teaser and Reward banners, or publicity. The full hi-res illustrations aren't posted elsewhere.

-Time limited is a bit more complex, but basically it means that once the pledge limit date passes that artwork won't be available ever again.

Some people have asked me for "access to the gallery", there is no such thing as a gallery of past rewards as rewards are mailed individually to backers at the start of the next month.

Now, I get why this might be controversial, but my reason for doing this is so people that back the artwork can rest assured that their reward is something exclusive that they won't see posted elsewhere. They're paying to own something that a minority will have and that makes it more special.

Sure, that means that people can't have access to the old illustrations if they didn't back them, but it also means that people can own the ones yet to come and know they're pledging to own something special.

I can't simply go and sell the old illustration rewards at a reduced price or give free access to them to new pledges because that would be disrespectful towards old patrons that have been backing the project since time ago, plus that's mean I'd have to go back on my promise about exclusivity to all the previous patrons, which would be something truly unethical to do and I have to stand by my words.

When you're pledging for the NSFW tier for example it doesn't just mean you're getting like 8-10 variations of artwork of a character, it means you're also owning something unique.
