boiling zinc
Added 2025-08-26 17:05:36 +0000 UTCThis is my best slow mo shot so far. 40,000 amps through a galvanized steel rod. The green plasma is from the zinc metal boiling off faster than the steel melts.

Not to mention, they provide glimpses of things we don’t fully understand yet, which is what makes science (and exploding things) so fascinating.
