Added 2022-03-06 19:52:51 +0000 UTChere's a slow mo clip of the coil in the previous post. I was quite shocked on its appearance here honestly. It only looks like a flame at normal speed due to persistence of vision!

it must be superheating and splitting apart the molecules and expanding, as well as lifting up due to warm air rising. Cool effect. I wonder if you took some oxygen bottle with a check valve and a metal bike tire needle on the end if you can add air and itd be a sustained standing plasma/wave? Like connect the end to ground so it strikes it constantly, then flow out a flammable gas or oxygen and/or or whatever to see what it does in slowmo, if it can look more like a sustained flow and not evaporate the branches of the spark.
