Pokémonday suggestions 56 (02-19-2024)

Welcome to the fifty-sixth Pokémonday suggestions post! Today, I'm gathering ideas for...

...a forest-dwelling Pokémon!

I really enjoyed the area-specific prompts, so here's another one. I'm guessing Bug or Grass, but hey, surprise me!

A stick bug pokemon

Matan

Seasquatch?

Isaac Anguiano

A Grass/Poison-type pokemon based off toxic plant species like Giant Hogweed. The irl plant It secretes an oil that burns the afflicted when exposed to sunlight - possibly giving the pokemon a type change during sunny conditions.

lokomotives

A Pokémon based off the kākāpō, sometimes known as the owl parrot, would be a neat idea. While they’re flightless, they’re also endangered.

The Negotiator

I'd love the idea of a grass/fairy type Pokémon that represents the whole idea of finding things left by the fae in the woods to try and trick you or play pranks on you. I feel like the most obvious choice to represent this is a mushroom or perhaps even something based on the idea of a Brownie [I believe that's the name for the creature who would come and fix/repair/bake things you left out at night]

Aetos

A lotus Pokémon that plays upon the concept of a “Lotus eater machine”. Basically it looks super cute and non-threatening and even peaceful in it’s first stage, but then, as it gets bigger, the flower on it’s head starts to get bigger and more monstrous and is revealed to be the real brains of the operation. Also, it can make illusions or brainwash someone to change their mentality or behavior to make them act or think differently or trap them in their own little dream world or fantasy by warping their viewpoint or the way that they perceive reality, so probably Grass and either Psychic or Fairy type.

Kristen Shields

A quite literal Pine Marten with needles for fur? Grass/Fighting to reflect its aggression, Grass/Fairy to reflect its solitude, or Grass/Flying to reflect its jumping ability?

Foxdoc

How about a kodama pokémon? For those unaware, kodama are spirits from Japanese folklore that inhabit trees, and made an appearance in Princess Mononoke as the lil guys whose heads would rattle.

Strengthening Weakener

Bringing back a very early suggestion of a Pokémon based on the hungry hungry caterpillar. It goes into its cocoon form when feeling full (kinda like morpeko or an actual evo) and its final evo is based on what type of berries it ate the most.

Miz Kriss

A nocturnal bug/flying giant moth. This one called the Giant Leopard Moth to be exact: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giant_leopard_moth

Kimba

Ghost type Possum. Played dead one too many times. Hides any ghost like properties playing dead until someone gets close to check.

Chj92

Now that I think about it, the pre-evolved form could be small and round like Navi and the evolved form could be more humanoid like Tinker Bell

The Wesinator

Grass/Fairy has been one of my favorite type combinations for a while, but I feel like no existing ones fully live up to it. I think a forest-dweller is the perfect opportunity to make a Pokémon that really lives up to that full potential. What would be perfect would be a Navi/Tinker Bell-esque pixie sprite Pokémon that lives deep in the forest and has leaves on its body that resemble a little dress. Pink flowers for hair would be great, cause that pink & green coloration is what I think would really bring home the Grass/Fairy-type aesthetic. Add some sparkles and it would be the perfect forest fairy Pokémon.

The Wesinator

Some kinda stick bug version of the Hide Behind creature could be cool

Plubcol

a moose with a rock body and wooden antlers with pine needles and conifer cone grooves.

Stefan

Maybe a burned sapling/tree pokemon with a charcoal/ember aesthetic? It could evolve to have lots of new life and flowers growing from its ash/remains

Panini Cupcake

Grass/Dragon that lives in the knothole on a chunk of log and collects random items to store in its 'nest'.

Lord Circe

Going once again for my Bug/Dragon Type thay has a stag beetle like head, wings that are like a combination of a dragonfly and butterfly's, pray mantis like arm and a bee stinger for a tail.

J Gerard

How about a Dark/Flying Harpy Eagle?

Haelerin

Psychic/Dark type based off of slime molds!

Gabriel Silva
