Hidden Details: Disguised in the Depths

Welcome to the one-hundredth-and-seventy-eighth episode of the Hidden Details blog!

Have you found some obscure reference or detail in this comic? A JoJo reference? A sneaky little Loss? A callback to a previous comic? Let us know what you've found in the comments! Every detail that has been found will be added to the list below. Once everything has been found, this comic will officially be marked with "all details found".

Link to the comic for your convenience

Please only comment with ONE hidden detail or reference!

There's one Loss, one Balthazar, one Miep and one crewmate. Bonus comics don't count.

FIRST PANEL
1:
The little rocks (I don't think they're warts, Trigger) on the Little Frox in the first panel forms loss!
2:
Zelda's underpants has the same pattern as her dress.

THIRD PANEL
3:
Zelda uses her down-B (a Phantom) to make the Yiga member crash in the third panel, as pointed out by Nova_Cat59.
4:
The Yiga member drops a bunch of interesting items upon crashing into the Phantom. Like a bunch of Mighty Bananas, as mentioned by Calvin Barbanell, and Rupees, as mentioned by Lord Circe.
5:
The bike the Yiga clan member is driving is an actual bike you can boild (using a Yiga Schematic) in the game, as astutely pointed out by Percylegallois!
6:
There's also a little group of Poes hanging around in the background. Good catch, Brandon Digwood!
7:
Zelda whistling was indeed a reference to how you can get an enemy's attention in Tears of the Kigndom, Pixelman86!

FOURTH PANEL
8:
Throughout the comic, the eyes on the Yiga masks convey their emotions, as pointed out by Fighting Master. Fun fact: this is the first comic in a while that Mink worked on (he's doing a second internship). The last time we saw the Yiga clan, he was the one who came up with the idea of making the eyes emote.
9:
One of the Yiga member's earrings looks a lot like a crewmate. Quality crewmate spotting, A Sad Fat Dragon with No Friends!
10:
Haha yes, apparently Balthazar has joined the Yiga clan in this panel, Spirit of Gotham. He's visible in the bottom right corner. Guess I should be mad at him for joining up with bad guys but honestly I'm just glad he's having fun.

FIFTH PANEL
11:
Bro I don't even remember drawing bananas in Stay Ganonymous, Williams Fan 92. But you're right, there's a little drawing of Mighty Bananas in the background of this panel.

EIGHTH PANEL
12:
Miep is chilling on one of the platforms of the Yiga base in the background. Found by Cameron Devera.
13:
In the same panel, there's a Korok design visible on the Yiga flag. I was going to hide another Korok like I've been doing with the other Zelda comics, but since they aren't found in the Depths I had to improvise, The Negotiator!

The details that have not been found are marked italic.

Hidden Details: Disguised in the Depths

Comments

Ah, I should have referenced Yiga Knockout, not Stay Ganonymous.

Ipswich Town Fan 92

The drawing of the Zelda the Yiga are looking for is distinctly Mii-like, referencing how the game uses a modified Mii creation tool for Hylian NPCs

EmberTheFlareon

Zelda makes the yiga guy crash by using her down special from smash

Nova_Cat59

The zonai device in panel 3 is one the yiga actually use, and the yiga outfit zelda wears is the female mii outfit from smash bros

JessieTheAnt

The Zonai roller device on the third panel has a minecraft pig nose. Dont know if it has it ingame… but it has one.

G3ntiLP

Bottom Panel 5 has a banana picture taped to a wall/tree(?). Yiga love their bananas. Zelda whistles in Panel 3, which you can use in the game to garner an enemy's attention.

SilentC

Also, not a hidden detail, but wanted to write out the current locations of the Smash Crew: Zelda in the Depths (Yiga), Ganondorf (running from civilians), Young Link (Lynel Cub) and Toon Link (sailing pirate) on the Surface, and Link and Pikachu (with Rauru's arms) in the Sky. Will help with keeping things straight for me going forward, and hope it helps others too.

Brandon Digwood

In the first panel, the creature's warts at the lower left corner form Loss!

Trigger

I know it's not part of the comic itself, but the commentary at the bottom is a reference to the meme from The Phantom Menace

UnSaxon51

Poes in the background of Panel Three.

Brandon Digwood

Don't know if this counts, but the question mark above the Yiga member's head before he crashes could be a reference to enemies who hear Link in-game also having one appear before they spot him.

Generic Hero

The Yiga that Zelda defeats to steal clothes from drops bananas and rupees, the same items that Yigas drop when defeated in the game.

BenjaMan64

The bike is a real yiga bike from the game (How Can Zelda have black hairs on her mask? when link wears it, he's still blond, and a yiga note this)

Percylegallois

Those weird Depths enemies(don’t know the official name) are swarming around Zelda in panel 1

Jon Brouse

There’s a drawing of a banana with hearts around it in the back of the 5th panel. Nice callback to Stay Ganonymous.

Ipswich Town Fan 92

The yiga clan masks are more expressive

Fighting Master

On panel 4

A Sad Fat Dragon with No Friends

Also Zelda summoned the Phantom from Spirit Tracks sorry I had to say that

Shelby Kinkead

In panel 3 you can see the Yiga has dropped rupees.

Lord Circe

Crewmate on a yiga guys earing thingy

A Sad Fat Dragon with No Friends

The Yiga clan member dropped his bananas when Zelda attacked him. Such a tragedy.

Calvin Barbanell

Zelda waking up might be a pararel to botw intro when link wakes up

Tolis

Balthazar is a Yiga Clan member in panel 4

Spirit of Gotham

A Korok drawing can be seen on the last panel.

The Negotiator

I feel like there’s a Clark Kent effect when the Yiga Clan didn’t seem to see the SSBU Zelda as their universe’s Zelda even though they have some similarities

Shelby Kinkead

I see Miep in the final panel!

Cameron Devera
