Hidden Details: God Champion

Welcome to the one-hundredth-and-seventy-second episode of the Hidden Details blog!

Have you found some obscure reference or detail in this comic? A JoJo reference? A sneaky little Loss? A callback to a previous comic? Let us know what you've found in the comments! Every detail that has been found will be added to the list below. Once everything has been found, this comic will officially be marked with "all details found".

Link to the comic for your convenience

Please only comment with ONE hidden detail or reference!

There's one Loss, one Balthazar, one Miep and one crewmate. Bonus comics don't count.

1:
Right on the money, Generic Hero! I thought it'd be funny to have the personalities of the Elite 4 members switched around a bit, so in this universe, Rika is the one sobbing while Hassel is remaining calm. And yes Tolis, the actual baby is comforting her.
2:
Baxcalibur is one of Hassel's Pokémon in his Elite 4 battle. I had to somehow depict them defeating the Elite 4, so I included a knocked-out Baxcalibur in the first panel which also functions as a boost for Poppy.
3:
Rockruff is actually awoo-ing along with Skeledirge's song in the first panel, A Sad Fat Dragon with No Friends!
4:
Larry is posing like he does in the actual game when you beat him.
5:
Sora is wearing Geeta's outfit from the actual games. So I guess that's not actually Geeta's personal attire but a suit every Top Champion has to wear, Percylegallois?
6:
Oh. I hadn't considered a Pluto reference, Pen Heart. But Arceus indeed does say woof. But only because I thought it was funny.
7:
The speech bubble is once again depicted as holy text, as mentioned by Jon Brouse.
7:
I really should have let Arceus use Judgement, that would have fitted better. But for some reason I chose to use Dragon Pulse, which is actually what those pink/purple beams are supposed to depict.
8:
It also has a little crewmate hidden in it, as found by Daniel Myhre!
9:
Duck Hunt Dog sniffs at the knocked-out Meowscarada in the fifth panel as if to check if his Pokémon buddy is okay.
10:
Miep's tail appears behind Daisy in the fifth panel. Good eyes, The Negotiator!
11:
Uh... I must admit I don't remember Giratina's entrance in Legends: Arceus, Edgar Castro, but you mentioned the Dusk Ball which I thought fitted Giratina well.
12:
Shame no one got this one! Giratina's cry is the one that appears in Pokémon Platinum! I have no clue how that word would sound in real life though.
13:
This week's loss is hidden in the stars in the final panel, close to Giratina's tentacle thingy. I have no idea what they're supposed to be either, Spirit of Gotham.
14:
There's a tiny little silhouette visible next to Rockruff in the final panel and that is indeed the boy Balthazar/Stubunny, Brandon Digwood!
15:
And the well-known JoJo TBC arrow appears once more, as mentioned by Cameron Devera.

Next week around this time, I'll reveal all the details. The ones that have not been found will be marked italic.

Hidden Details: God Champion

Comments

Woof is in the holy text, as Arceus is the PokeGod

Jon Brouse

Amogus is in the purple clouds of frame 4

Rhys Hendo

The three Starters when saying what they do could be a reference to Labyrinth’s “Dance Magic Dance”

Russell Hale

A random Quaxly has a surprised Donald Duck face

RedSet Laree

Crewmate in the Judgement blast

Pokedude14

Balthazar can be can be seen in silhouette next to Rockruff in the Giratina reveal panel.

Brandon Digwood

You can see Miep’s tail behind Daisy in Panel 5. I wonder what Miep is up to?

The Negotiator

Arceus said woof as if to be a reference to Pluto.

PenHeart3

Rockruff is in the back of the first panel, looking at skeledirge's birdie

A Sad Fat Dragon with No Friends

I like that you even included the elevator in the background of panel 4.

Calvin Barbanell

Rikka is crying and being consoled by the literal baby

Tolis

In Panel 11, Kazuya is furious at how Meowscarada has been hurt. Seems Kazuya's paternal instincts are quite strong after raising Pirahna Plant II!

BenjaMan64

Giratina came out of it's Dusk Ball similar to how it appeared in the post game fight in Legends Arceus.

Edgar Castro

I love Meowscarada's magic trick being the "detaching thumb gag". It is such a swerve from their usual poise.

Lord Circe

Sora wear the exact outfit as the Real paldea champion

Percylegallois

Meowscarada is doing missing thumb trick, Quaquaval is twerk dancing and Skeledirge is singing hard as respective abilities.

Deuce Ray

After their battle, Rika is sobbing uncontrollably while Hassel is calm and collected- exactly the opposite to how they react to the player's victory in-game.

Generic Hero

Loss is in the stars by Giratina's tendril thing

Spirit of Gotham

To Be Continued arrow below Sephy in the final panel! Time for Round 4 for Sephiroth vs Sora!
