Hidden Details: On Sephiroth's Left

Welcome to the one-hundredth-and-forty-sixth episode of the Hidden Details blog!

Have you found some obscure reference or detail in this comic? A JoJo reference? A sneaky little Loss? A callback to a previous comic? Let us know what you've found in the comments! Every detail that has been found will be added to the list below. Once everything has been found, this comic will officially be marked with "all details found".

Link to the comic for your convenience

Please only comment with ONE hidden detail or reference!

There is ONE Loss, ONE Balthazar, ONE crewmate and ONE obscure retro character. Bonus panels don't count.

1: The museum banner in the first panel announces the current exhibition on display: Bringing Despair to the Smash House. It's accompanied by a little Sephibutt. Good catch, HaydenEatsShrimp.
2:
You're right, Generic Hero. Pyra apparently missed the sign right outside the museum that mentions you can only go in topless.
3:
I'll take your word for it, edmg7. Friendly Discord members helped me with Persona 5 lore since I haven't played the game, but apparently the museum Morgana mentions in the first panel is Madarame's. It's the second palace the Phantom Thieves infiltrate in Persona 5. (This is a direct quote from edmg7)
4:
The security guards in Sephiroth's museum have the same hair color, belts and nude upper bodies as Sephiroth himself.
5:
In the third panel, we can spot one of the many pieces of art that are on display in Sephiroth's museum of bad deeds: a painting depicting him traumatizing Cloud from one of the first comics after he was added to Smash. Cameron Devera spotted this one.
6:
Tifa covers Squirtles eyes in the third panel. Apparently he is the "child" Pyra is talking about, Daniel Myhre.
7:
Part of Balthazar's head is visible next to Squirtle in the fourth panel. Thanks for finding the boy, Trigger!
8:
The crewmate is visible as a silhouette in Sephiroth's army in the fifth panel, as mentioned by Jack!
9:
The wyvern antlers form loss, as pointed out by Miz Kriss. Maybe they're bred for that particular shape of antlers.
10:
Yeah, I do consider Etika being part of the hero army a hidden detail, Jeffrey Solis. May he rest in peace.
11:
I did intentionally leave Edelgard out of this picture, Delete This. Partly because I like messing with Edelgard stans and partly because I genuinely think she's a villain, lol.
12:
The Acolytes of the Supreme Sun (A.S.S.) reappear in this comic. They're all wearing an A.S.S. badge, too. Sharp eyes, Zanreo.
13:
All playable LocoRoco from both the original game and the second game are visible in Byleth's army. There are six in total!
14:
Sephiroth's has banners with a Sephibutt on them, and Byleth's army has banners with the Smash logo, as pointed out by Pandocula.
15:
There's a hulking silhouette visible behind Doom Slayer. This silhouette belongs to Doshin the Giant, who I consider the retro gaming character this week. Good catch, law_guy!
16:
Seems like a certain Saiyan showed up as well. His hair is visible right behind Cynthia, as mentioned by Percylegallois. I just HAD to include the #1 joke character in Smash history.
17:
The Chibi Robo in Byleth's army is on fire, as a reference to the infamous Nintendo tweet that included the same picture back in 2018. Glad you got that reference, Spirit or Gotham!
18:
As a little joke to their morally grey status, I put a Rabbid both on the villain army and the hero army. I hope that answers your question, Fighting Master.
19:
Another JoJo "To Be Continued" arrow at the end, as pointed out by Joshua Eddleston. I think we'll be seeing this thing a few times more in the upcoming weeks.
20:
The comic's title is a reference to the quote from Avengers: Endgame, where Sam Wilson tells Steve Rogers "on your left.", when he's about to arrive with a huge army of heroes.

PSA: not every character in the army is a hidden detail

Next week, I'll reveal all the details that haven't been found. These ones are written in italic.

Hidden Details: On Sephiroth's Left

Comments

I love how Spyro is going for the ender dragon.

Eliane Regout

Dangit!

Calvin Barbanell

I can't count the outfits since they were already revealed in bonus panels last week, unfortunately!

Wooden Plank Studios

Nah that's just a coincidence lol

Wooden Plank Studios

Nope, that's a regular window!

Wooden Plank Studios

the crewmate is on the 5th panel next to Sonic's hand

Krishna Kuchibhotla

The second last panel a flag show the smash logo

Pandocula

Why do I feel like Cloud will end up destroying that painting once he discovers(if he hasn’t already) Sephiroth was responsible for that PTSD episode in that comic?

Shelby Kinkead

When you think about it, this is officially the first time Gex appears in the revival arc (outside the shitpost comics to be precise). Also I have a feeling some of the characters in Byleth’s army received the false invitations from Sephiroth before Doom Slayer ended his prank

Shelby Kinkead

In the last panel, Kratos is doing that funny little face you did for him in 3 comics in 2018/2019

Cendrail

I'm not sure if this really counts as being visible in the main comic, but Squirtle's outfit is that of the leader of the Squirtle Squad from the Pokémon anime. I presume all the Phantom Theives' outfits are references, but that's the only one I know.

Calvin Barbanell

This could be a coincidence, but Morgana brings up, “Sephiroth’s Exibitionism” which could be a callback to Sephiroth sitting at the “Exibitionists” table in his first comic

Bennett Gould

May not be intentional but Waluigi poses very similar to Luffy when he is gearing up.

Victor Wärmegård

I may or may not have seen goku among the heroes

Nugget Nugget

I'm seeing a few obscure allies on the heroes' side. One blends in with Dixie Kong, one is on Professor Layton's hat, one by Byleth's right shoe, one on top of Gooey, one hidden under Rayman, and one sitting on top of Klonoa's cap. Does anyone know who, or what, these little guys are?

N-Sight

I checked, and no, she's not present at all in either army.

N-Sight

Uh, Claude and Dimitri are the two house leaders who lend their aid to the church in Three Houses(or in Claude's case, Three Hopes) when Edelgard declares war against the church. If you ally with any path other than Edelgard's, she becomes a villain in every encounter from there on out.

N-Sight

Kakarot is ready to fight in the byleth army behind cynthia in panel 7

Alex Hidalgo

Byleth having an army is a fire emblem mechanic.

Cameron Jackson

Tifa covering Squirtle's eyes

Pokedude14

3rd pannel, the painting in the background containes a silhouette that looks like Aeris

PineappleApoc

I don't know if he counts but Etika is part of the Heroes' army

Jeffrey Solis

Chibi Robo is on fire as a reference to a Nintendo tweet where he is also on fire

Spirit of Gotham

I think Jack Frost's comment about "Recruit Us" is a reference to Demon recruiting returning in Persona 5, after being absent in several earlier installments.

Lord Circe

There's Dimitri and Claude but not Edelgard. Perhaps she is in Sephiroth's army of villians?

RedViolet69

I haven't played Three Houses, but it feels significant that Byleth brought Claude and Dimitri, but not Edelgard...

UnSaxon51

They're allies in the Mario + Rabbids games, but villains in Rayman Raving Rabbids

Generic Hero

How come there's a rabbid on both the heroes and villain side

Fighting Master

Many of the heroes in the last panel previously helped with reviving the roster. I'd point out which ones, but I don't want to look at F!Byleth any longer than I absolutely have to.

Zach

The sephiroth d*ck is in the sign above the museum. A continuation of the joke

HaydenEatsShrimp

Master Chief from Halo and Doom Guy are standing side by side and are often mistaken for each other.

happy pasta

Balthazar can be seen at bottom corner of the panel where Joker is removing the mask from one of the guards

Trigger

Jojo To Be Continued arrow at the end of the comic as always.

Joshua Eddleston

The dragons’ horns (antlers?) are Loss…

Miz Kriss

Goku's hair behind Cynthia

Percylegallois

Donald and Goofy's weapons are obstructed by other character due to copyright reasons

A Sad Fat Dragon with No Friends

The ASS members from a previous comic all got badges

Zanreo

The museum in panel 1 has the Smash Circle logo

Michael Ederer

Doshin the Giant is a silhouette in the background.

Novikous

Pyra shouldn't have been too surprised by the museum's dress code- it's posted out front, by Morgana's tail!

Generic Hero

The big silhouette in the crowd behind Byleth in the last panel is Doshin the Giant.

lawariano

The museum Morgana is referring to is Madarame's. It's the second palace The Phantom Thieves infiltrate in Persona 5.

edmg7

The painting in the third panel is one of your previous comics “Why Do I Hear Boss Music?” where Lucas and Ness helped Sephiroth give Cloud some traumatic music.
