[Progress Dump] March to December & 2024~!!!

Hey y’all,

We hope y’all had a wonderful Christmas and New Years celebration.

It’s been the longest of whiles since we’ve posted, and it’s about time we filled y’all in with what’s been happening since our last post, which was in March last year.

A lot of things have happened, some have been good things and some, not so much.

So what’s been happening? Let's start with the bad news first so we can get that out of the way.

Zuri Sama’s Health

Last year around September, I was hospitalized for what initially seemed like a heart attack.

The good news is that it wasn’t a heart attack. But it did reveal the effects of what can happen after a whole sequence of pretty crappy events.

Because of that, I’ve had to step back for a while, focusing on recovering and taking things a little easier on myself.

The good news is, I’m ok! And I’ve been steadily getting back up to speed with everything, though we have had to make a few changes in light of it.

Production

We’ve been making good progress on everything, and have spent our time preparing everything we need for the Patreon relaunch.

There’s been lots of talking, getting used to new tools to help us manage stuff and figuring out how it’s all going to work, trying to find a good balance that’s flexible and manageable.

The good news is that we’re almost ready, but we’ll talk about that more in follow up posts, including changes we’ll need to make before the relaunch.

As for the team.

Buka Chan has been working on redesigns for Paizuri Girls (and Guys too), working on scenes for Paizuri University, and continuously refining their process to bring their art up to the next level.

Zuri Sama has continued rewriting for Paizuri University, working their way through each chapter (and then some) making them longer and naughtier. They’ve also been levelling up their own skills too, learning more about writing, programming, and Blender (as part of creating backgrounds for PU).

Unknown Sen has continued to work on the OPPAI Engine with Zuri, experimenting and developing foundational features. Just recently, they’ve also returned to working on our Memento Engine in Unity, because Unity pulled their heads out of their butts in October last year.

We’ll talk more about what’s happening with Memento, the OPPAI Engine and why we’re using Unity again in a follow up post, because it was too long to put here and there’s some things to air out.

And that’s it!

At the end of this month, we’ll be entering into the 8th year of Zuripai Games.

Looking back, it hasn’t felt like 8 years.

In that time we’ve made a lot of mistakes, some of which we thought would be the end, and we could go no further.

But in pursuit of creating lewd stories, cute characters and art, we’ve grown and come to understand so much that I don’t think would have been possible in any other way. All from a simple decision to make games, because of a joke between friends. The experiences from that have shaped us into people we never thought we could become.

If there’s something you want to create, go do it. You might surprise yourself with where it leads you.

We still don’t know where this is all ultimately going (we’ll find out when we get there). But in the meantime, we hope to bring you more of the Paizuri Girls and the Paizuri World we’re trying to create.

We’re almost there! Just a little longer!

We hope y’all excited for what’s to come from Zuripai Games.
